Blackmatch To make Blackmatch you need some mealpowder, string, dextrin and some water/alcohol mix. In a small dish mix up some water/alcohol mix with your fine mealpowder and about 5% dextrin. it should be nice a "slushy" liquidly mess. Now coil up a length of about 15 ft of nice cotton string (don't get it into knots) and submerge the string into the slush and mix it all in well. When you are ready to take it out run it through your fingers to remove all the excess slush. Now tie this string to two posts or similar and make sure its tight. get some fresh mealpowder and 5% dextrin and slightly moisten it with your water/alcohol mix. Don't make it as wet as the last batch. When it clumps together nicely when squeezed you need to add just another couple of squirts. Now go along the length of your string rubbing this paste in with your thumb and index finger , make sure you leave no gaps where you can see the string.If you do this hard enough you should be getting rope burn on your fingers..... Do about 2 layers of this and you should have respectable Blackmatch Quickmatch Quickmatch is basically Blackmatch in a tube. Make a tube out of kraft paper no bigger than 1/4 inch but not to small either. Place this over the Blackmatch and there you have it..Quickmatch. This stuff burns very fast. Don't think that the smaller you make you tube the faster it will burn, As this is not true.I found that if I actually taped the ends shut the fuse took off like a rocket. |
