Host Gary Miller welcomes two former Los Angeles Lakers -- Charlotte Hornets swingman Eddie Jones and Denver Nuggets point guard Nick Van Exel.

    • Once considered the backcourt that would lead them to an NBA title, are Van Exel and Jones bitter each was traded from the Lakers in the past year?
    • Can Phil Jackson pull the current Lakers together and get Kobe Bryant and Shaq to play together to lead them to an NBA championship?
    • Jones flourished when he and Elden Campbell were traded to the Hornets for Glen Rice and J.R. Reid. Is Jones happy to be in Charlotte and how quickly will they be an Eastern Conference contender under Paul Silas?
    • Van Exel will be a free agent this off-season. Does he want to play in Denver or explore his options with other teams?
    • Do the Knicks have any chance of turning the NBA Finals around or are the Spurs on their way to a sweep?
    AUDIO EXCERPTS FROM THE INTERVIEW

    From the LA Times (4/1/99)
Eddie Jones, Charlotte's top scorer and best defender, injured his left shoulder drawing a charging call from Michael Curry late in the third quarter. The former Laker played the entire fourth quarter and scored six points, but was in obvious pain after the game while wearing an ice pack on his shoulder. At one point, he doubled over in his chair while taking to reporters. "They called an offensive foul, but it didn't help the pain," said Jones, who refused X-rays. "I hope it'll be OK."
