THE FLORIDIAN FALL FOOTBALL LEAGUE RULES FOR 2001

The league will comprise of an even number of 14 teams. The teams will be separated at random after the auction into three divisions (the Gator (5), the Seminole (4), and the Hurricane (5)). Each team will have to fill at the auction - 3 QBs, 4 RBs, 5 WRs, 2 TEs, 2 Ks, 2 Team Special Teams, and 2 Team Defenses for total of 20 positions. These players will be obtained via an auction that will be held on the 4th week of August every year at the Altamonte Springs Hooters'at 7 PM. Be there at least 15 minutes early so we can start on time. I estimate that the auction will take about 4 hours, so please plan accordingly. Each owner in turn will bring up a player's name, position and team and a starting bid. The bidding will be via a free auction style (you want the player you bid - there is no set order), each player will go to the highest bidder. You have three passes in which you do not have to bring up a player. Each team has a salary cap of $26.00. All 20 positions must be filled, the minimum salary is $.10. Owners beware! If you draft all the players from the teams that will be off the same week, it is safe to assume that your team will not do so well when they have a bye week. Please bring enough money ($65) to cover your salary costs(must be paid before you can participate in the auction) and any food/drinks we order at Hooters. Each week every owner will field a team that will play against another in the league. The schedule will be distributed after the auction. An owner must call in his team for that week to the commissioner before 9PM Friday. If there is a Thursday night game the team must be called in before 9PM Wednesday. Failure to call in a team following the above rule will result in your Thursday night players not being used at all with any exceptions (including emergencies). Every week each team will field 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Team Special Teams, and 1 Team Defense. Trades are allowed in the league. However, trades cannot include any player(s) that is the top 5 salaries on your team. Also any traded player MAY NOT be used the same week he is traded. Trading ceases on Week 9 of the regular season.

Call-ups from the free agent pool may be used the same week they are obtained.

SCORING. Points are accumulated in the following manner: Any QB, WR, RB, or TE touchdown scores six points. If Culpepper throws a TD to Moss, then Culpepper gets 6 pts and so does Moss. If you own them both, your team just scored 12 points. The points a kicker scores are as he kicks them; 1 for Extra Pt and 3 for a FG. Any touchdown or safety scored by a defensive player or a kick returner count only if the owner selects that team’s defense or special team that week. However, there is a bonus system installed for exceptional performances. Any QB that throws for

300+ yds = 3 bonus pts, plus another 2 pts for every 100 yards after the initial 300.(A 400 yard day will get a QB 5 bonus points.) For every 100 yds a player rushes for he scores 5 bonus pts. For every 100 yds a player has in receptions he scores 4 bonus points. For a K, a 40-49 yd kick gets 2 bonus points, 50-59 yd kick 3 bonus points and a 60+ gets 4 bonus points. A team's Special Teams gets 4 bonus points with every 150 yards of total return yards (kickoff and punt return only) they produce.

Team Defense is evaluated in three categories. In order for a defense to win that week it must win 2 of the following 3 categories: 1) Points allowed; 2) Total yards allowed (rushing and passing); and 3) Total turnovers (sacks + interceptions + fumbles recovered (SIF)). Whichever defense wins at least 2 of the 3 categories that week, then that team receives as points for the best defense his SIF total. Example, the Jets vs. the Rams defense. The Jets give up 10 pts vs. the Rams 13. The total yards given up are Jets 301 and the Rams 290. The SIF totals are for the Jets (2 sacks+2 interceptions+1 fumble recovered) vs. the Rams (2+1+0). Because of the Jets winning the Point and SIF category the Jets Defense scores 5 points for their team, its their SIF total. If a defense wins all 3 categories in a week that defense scores an additional 4 bonus points. There is also a 7-point bonus for any NFL team posting a shut out.

FEES. The initial fee is $26.00 for your team. Each game will cost each team $3.00. We play a 13 week regular schedule. Failure to pay for a game will result in a forfeit for that team and still makes the owner liable for the cost of the game. Since each team will play as a minimum 13 games, the total comes to $65.00 for the entire season plus any player transactions due to injuries and the play-offs which will be due before the auction. Each transaction to replace an injured player (free agent call-up) costs a team $3.00 and priority goes to the team with the lower place in the standings. Each team is allowed ONE (1) (uno) (eins) Rid of your Bum Transactions (RBTs) per week (FAAB) and costs a team $5.00. A player must be listed as out in order to be put on the IR list and another player called up for him. Division standings are decided by the following parameters: Win-Loss-Tie record, and Points Scored For. Tiebreakers for Win-Loss-Tie ties in the standings and for Wildcard berths will be determined by Win-Loss record, points scored for, head-to-head play and finally a coin flip. All statistics as well as the condition of a player will be taken out of USA Today as a primary source.

THE SWEAT BOWL. The championship game for the league will take place on the second to last week of the regular NFL season. With our 14 team league, in NFL week 14 of the regular season two (2) Wildcard teams will be chosen and play one another. Wild Card teams are determined in two ways (2003 Rule Change) - first wild card team is the team that is the best record non-division winner. The second wildcard team is the team with the most points scored during the regular season. The following week (15), the Wildcard winner will play the division champ with the best total record and the two (2) other division champs will play one another. In week 16, the two winners will square off and do battle.

DISTRIBUTION. To the victor will go the title, you and your team name inscribed on the trophy, the spoils, the women and 50% of the pot. The loser of the Sweat Bowl gets 20% of the pot. The remaining three (3) playoff teams get 10% of the pot each. In addition, the owners of the League's MVP and the League's Rookie of the Year receives $20.00 each. The owner of the QB with the most completions, the RB with the highest rushing average and the WR/TE with the longest pass reception each receives $25.00. The final payout is $20.00 to the NFL's Pro Bowl MVP. Also any Fantasy team that scores 100 points in one week will get $20.00 from the pot.

ADMINISTRATIVE BS.The selection of teams into a division will be a random selection at the end of the auction. In order to keep some resemblance of order in the league and to keep the petty arguments to a minimum, I as commissioner will rule on transactions and rules. The whole league will vote any major problem with a decision made by the commissioner on. There will be no rules committee, four years ago the rules committee was more concerned in how the decision affected their team rather in what effect it had on the league. Any attempt to circumvent a rule will result in the transaction being voided. I expect everyone to act with honesty and fair play. Failure to do so will result in a vote by the League to possibly expel that owner from the league. Expulsion from the league does not mean a refund, expulsion means forfeiture of any funds paid in or due. The age for an individual to participate in this league is at least 18 years of age. My present phone number are as follows: (586)783-6844.

Neil Devera (834-2273) is the transaction/treasurer, all funds will be paid to him.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!!!!
