I was trained in the little known field of biological illustration at the University of Florida. Biological, or natural science, illustrators generally work with scientists to render images that combine aesthetics and accuracy. Often, an illustration can convey more information than a photograph. Natural science illustrators sometimes work in a permanent capacity in libraries, museums or academic departments. Since graduating in 1996, I have been working as a freelance illustrator, preparing work for publication in science books, journal articles, and for scientific presentations. I come from a fine arts background, and maintain an interest in realistic fine art and murals.
