Preseason magic gone for ACTING CAPTAINS
George K and Coach exchange words after T-BONE CRUSHERS win
Statsworld.com Fantasy Sources
20 ACTING CAPTAINS (0-1)
• Matt Leinart - 5t TD
• Frank Gore - 6r TD
• Javon Walker - 119 rec yards
• Robbie Gould - 27g FG

67 T-BONE CRUSHERS (1-0)
• Jon Kitna - 289 pass yards, 13t 16t 32t TD
• Travis Henry - 139 rush yards
• Randy Moss - 183 rec yards, 51c TD
• Steve Smith - 118 rec yards, 68c TD
• Adam Vinatieri - 33g 33g FG
(9/11/2007) — After a great mini-camp and a strong preseason, the ACTING CAPTAINS appeared to have been confused with everything from the shape of the football to the referee's whistle.

Jon Kitna found the end zone three times while completing 27 of 36 passes for 289 yards. Kitna also got picked a couple of times. Randy Moss was off to the races this week, scoring on a 51-yard bomb and finishing with 9 receptions for 183 yards. Steve Smith appears ready for another big season. Smith scored on a 68-yard reception and finished with 7 catches for 118 yards.

"I might have been the only one in the stadium who wasn't worried," said T-BONE CRUSHERS coach Coach. "I knew Jon Kitna would carry us this week."

Frank Gore didn't have his most productive game (55 rushing yards and 1 reception for 21 yards), but his 6-yard touchdown certainly helped. Javon Walker didn't find the end zone, but he was a frequent target this week. Walker caught 9 balls for 119 yards. Matt Lienart didn't have the type of game owners expected, throwing for merely 102 yards on 14 of 28 passing and a short touchdown.

"They played faster," ACTING CAPTAINS coach George K said. "We were too anxious. We didn't get settled down. We did a few good things, but they controlled us. They kicked our butts basically. We made them look like some superstars. They did a good job on offense. Jon Kitna running the plays helped them out."

TOEJAMMS has all the answers in opening win
Statsworld.com Fantasy Sources
50 TOEJAMMS (1-0)
• Marc Bulger - 3t TD
• Marion Barber - 18r TD
• LaDainian Tomlinson - 51 rec yards, 17t 7r TD
• Torry Holt - 3c TD
• Santonio Holmes - 40c TD
• Andre Johnson - 142 rec yards, 77c TD
• David Akers - 33g 47g FG

39 LOS VATOS (0-1)
• Edgerrin James - 7r TD
• Marshawn Lynch - 23r TD
• Chad Johnson - 39c TD
• Neil Rackers - 35g FG
(9/11/2007) — A strong exhibition season is no guarantee of success. The LOS VATOS, unbeaten in the preseason, quickly lost their momentum in the season opener against the TOEJAMMS.

Andre Johnson started his season in style with a huge 77-yard touchdown reception. Johnson finished with 7 catches for 142 yards. LaDainian Tomlinson had an impossible day on the ground (17 rushes for 25 yards and a touchdown), but he kept owners happy with a 17-yard touchdown pass and 7 catches for 51 yards. Marion Barber picked up where he left off last season with 94 yards of total offense and, of course, an 18-yard touchdown run.

"When you take 11 minutes off the clock in the fourth quarter, you're doing a great job of running the football," said TOEJAMMS coach Coach. "The guys buckled down today and realized that we needed to get something established other than just pinning back our ears and throwing it."

Edgerrin James had a nice game with 92 yards on the ground, 2 catches for 20 yards, and a 7-yard touchdown. Marshawn Lynch bounced back nicely from a rough preseason with 99 yards of total offense and a 23-yard touchdown run. Chad Johnson got on the scoreboard early with a 39-yard touchdown reception. Johnson finished with 5 catches for 95 yards.

"Yeah, I couldn't get my game in gear this week," confessed Mark R, the beleaguered coach of the LOS VATOS. "I was up too late preparing for the game and when I got up everything was yellow. I thought I was thinking fairly clearly. But you and I both know that wasn't the case."

BROKEN BONES hopes for undefeated season shattered
Statsworld.com Fantasy Sources
31 BROKEN BONES (0-1)
• Donovan McNabb - 9t TD
• Reggie Wayne - 115 rec yards, 28c 45c TD
• Baltimore O/D - 63pr TD

47 STORM (1-0)
• Peyton Manning - 288 pass yards, 27t 28t 45t TD
• Anquan Boldin - 5c TD
• Jeff Wilkins - 42g 28g FG
• Cincinnati O/D - 34df TD
(9/11/2007) — Peyton Manning might not get the attention he deserves but he sure received attention from those in attendance at the stadium after scoring 19 points in leading the STORM to a come from behind win over the BROKEN BONES 47 - 31.

Peyton Manning picked up where he left off last season with 3 touchdown passes, 288 yards, and no turnovers. Anquan Boldin scored on a 5-yard reception and led Arizona in receiving with just 4 catches for 22 yards.

"The coaches have to give players the opportunity," STORM coach Brian H said. "Peyton Manning hasn't had the opportunities this year that I would have liked to have given him. It's just unfortunate. I have a hard time dealing with it."

Reggie Wayne was a stud this week with 7 catches for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. Donovan McNabb's first game back from his season ending injury wasn't his best. McNabb completed just 15 of 33 passes for 184 yards and a short touchdown. As usual, Brian Westbrook got plenty of touches this week (85 yards on 20 rushes, 46 yards on 6 receptions). Westbrook's only problem is that he couldn't get into the end zone.

"I certainly am in charge of the offense and they weren't in rhythm tonight, but the defense was outstanding," BROKEN BONES coach Jim L said. "There's no excuse for how they played."

GALLOPING GESTOPOZ eaten alive by TECHNOIDS, lose 58 - 32
Statsworld.com Fantasy Sources
32 GALLOPING GESTOPOZ (0-1)
• Matt Hasselbeck - 34t TD
• Willie Parker - 109 rush yards
• Calvin Johnson - 16c TD
• Jason Hanson - 46g 46g 23g FG

58 TECHNOIDS (1-0)
• Tom Brady - 297 pass yards, 11t 5t 51t TD
• Plaxico Burress - 144 rec yards, 60c 4c 10c TD
• Josh Brown - 28g 46g FG
(9/11/2007) — Dan L is a perfectionist. Even after leading the TECHNOIDS to a 58-32 win the coach refused to accept any compliments, instead moving on to prepare for the next opponent.

Tom Brady appears to like his new wide outs just fine. Brady had 3 touchdown strikes, threw for just shy of 300 yards, and finished with 146.57 passer rating. Plaxico Burress had a monster game this week with 3 scores and 144 yards on 8 receptions. Willis McGahee had a decent performance on Monday, rushing for 77 yards and grabbing 3 receptions for 34 yards.

"We believe we're a good team," TECHNOIDS coach Dan L said. "We just didn't make the plays earlier in the year. Today we stood up and made the plays. We're not going to look ahead. We've got a long road ahead of us."

Jason Hanson kicked off his season on a positive note as he made all three of his field goal attempts, two of them from 46-yards out. Matt Hasselbeck's only score came on a 34-yard pass while completing 17 of 24 passes for 222 yards. Willie Parker had a nice rushing day (27 carries for 109 yards), but he didn't score and his only reception was for a 2-yard loss.

"This is very embarrassing," GALLOPING GESTOPOZ coach C J said. "If you don't hurt deep down inside, you don't love the game of football."

WHERE'S THE BEEF disrespect WOGG DOGGS, run up the score 40 - 39
Statsworld.com Fantasy Sources
39 WOGG DOGGS (0-1)
• Jake Delhomme - 10t 68t 9t TD
• Antonio Gates - 107 rec yards, 17c TD
• Jason Elam - 21g 48g 50m 43m 42g FG

40 WHERE'S THE BEEF (1-0)
• LaMont Jordan - 89 rec yards, 12r TD
• Marvin Harrison - 27c TD
• Olindo Mare - 52m 34g FG
• Minnesota O/D - 54i 14i TD
(9/11/2007) — The WHERE'S THE BEEF, led by 8 points from RB LaMont Jordan roughed up the WOGG DOGGS 40-39.

LaMont Jordan delivered a great game with 70 yards rushing (including a 12-yard score) and 9 receptions for 89 yards. Marvin Harrison made an outstanding catch to score on a 27-yard pass. Harrison caught 4 balls for 83 yards in the game.

"We'll take a win any way we can," WHERE'S THE BEEF coach Chris J said. "When we step on the field, everyone brings their 'A' game, so we need to as well."

Just as everyone is writing off Jake Delhomme, he comes through with an outstanding game. Delhomme connected on 3 touchdown passes and threw for 201 yards on 18 of 27 passing. Antonio Gates was a frequent target this week, grabbing 9 balls for 107 yards and a 17-yard score. As most owners expected, Larry Johnson is gradually working himself into game shape. Johnson only ran the ball 10 times for 43 yards, but he also caught 7 balls for 44 yards.

"I was happy to get to the stadium. We had a turbulent flight, hotel alarms rang all night, the food stunk, and the bus broke down heading to the stadium, said John D, losing coach of the WOGG DOGGS. "I would have liked it to have turned out in our favor but that's life."

NATURE BOYZ just a bunch of quitters, lose 60 - 54 to IMPALERS
Statsworld.com Fantasy Sources
54 NATURE BOYZ (0-1)
• Joseph Addai - 118 rush yards, 2r TD
• Shaun Alexander - 105 rush yards, 1r TD
• Terrell Owens - 22c 47c TD
• Hines Ward - 5c TD
• Stephen Gostkowski - 22g FG

60 IMPALERS (1-0)
• Tony Romo - 345 pass yards, 12t 22t 9r 47t 51t TD
• T.J. Houshmandzadeh - 7c TD
• Roy Williams - 13c TD
• Matt Stover - 36g 23g FG
• New England O/D - 108kr TD
(9/11/2007) — The IMPALERS followed through on its promise to throw the ball more this season as QB Tony Romo passed for 33 points in a win over the NATURE BOYZ.

Tony Romo opened the season on fire with 4 touchdown passes and his first career touchdown run. Romo threw for 345 yards on 15 of 24 passing and was intercepted once. T.J. Houshmandzadeh pulled in a team high 9 receptions and scored on a short catch. Housh's 9 balls only resulted in 50 yards. Roy Williams grabbed a 13-yard touchdown pass, but wasn't able to get much going otherwise. Williams other 3 receptions were for a total of just 7 yards.

When asked about the team's opening game victory, IMPALERS coach Dan P said, "I don't think it silences a lot of people, I really don't. I really think people will still look at us as being on the bottom of the league. I really don't think this win makes people change their minds about us, but we can't worry about that."

Joseph Addai scared owners early with a potential injury, but came back strong with 118 yards on 23 attempts and 3 catches for 25 yards. Shaun Alexander earned his yardage this week, rushing for 105 yards on 27 carries. Alexander's only score came on a 1-yard run. Terrell Owens had a slow start this week, but he didn't let that stop him from having a big game. Owens grabbed 3 balls for 87 yards, two of them for touchdowns.

"Pin this one on me," NATURE BOYZ coach Ron S said. "This was a game lost by poor attitude, lack of fire and passion, and an inability to set a decent lineup."
