2006/7 Season Rules 1. Games are picked with the point spread. The USA Today’s Newspaper Wednesday edition Danny Sheridan’s odds will be the official source of the posted spreads, if not available we will use the USA Today’s Web Site Wednesday edition Danny Sheridan’s odds, no exceptions. If the spreads are an even number, I will add .5 to eliminate any ties. For example; Was @ Dal, Dal +4, I will make it +4.5. This will make every game count. Monday night games total points are the tiebreaker. Weekly winner is the person who picks the most games correct. If two or more people are still tied after the Monday game total points tiebreaker then all that are tied will split the weekly pot. Each week your record is added to your overall record to determine the big end of season winners. 2. The number of participants for this year 2006 is 31. All monies will be collected up front. I am going to set a deadline of COB September 22 for all to be paid in full, with $60.00 paid by September 1st (first game is Thursday, September 7th) and $50.00 balance to be paid by September 22nd, so please send a check by September 22nd to me at 1600 Norma Gail Ave, Panama City, FL 32405 for the season and playoffs. Here is an example of how the season will work. There are 31 players, I play for free for running the contest, so 30 players and 17 weeks. $110.00 per person, paid in advance (prior to 22 Sept) $100.00 goes toward the season and $10.00 goes toward the playoffs. For the season a total of $3000.00 (100.00 x 29 = 3,000) and will be divided as follows. a. Weekly -- 1st place winner receive $50.00 -- 2nd place winner $25.00. (75.00 x 17 =1,275.00) b. The remaining 1,725.00 goes into the season overall, will be divided as follows: 1st 450 5th 175 2nd 350 6th 125 3rd 250 7th 100 4th 225 MOP 50 3. The weekly monies will not be paid until after the 1 October deadline, unless you have already paid in full for the season and playoffs. If you win prior to the deadline and you have not paid in full your balance will be credited. (IF YOU DO NOT PAY IN FULL BY THE DEADLINE YOU WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE CONTEST AND LOSE ANY MONIES PAID FOR THE CONTEST.) 4. Weekly Sheets will not be used. We have an Internet website at the following address: www.geocities.com/dolfan_1961 You can make your selections there, but ensure you courtesy copy the following address with your picks to cover yourself in the event of the ISP going down: Pelt170@comcast.net or Pelt170@aol.com DO NOT USE THE WORK COMPUTERS FOR ANY FOOTBALL POOL BUSINESS. If you do not have access to a computer, remember that the Wednesday USA Today is the official source for the point spreads. If you are TDY or on leave, you can get a newspaper and call me with your selections. (NOTE: Harrah’s Odds will not be allowed, you must pick your own selections using the point spread) 5. Picks must be called in to (850) 784-2081 or one of the other participants by 11:00a.m. Sunday, if you do not have Internet access. If you do email your selections from the web site, YOU WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION REPLY. Not really sure if that is true, but I will email you if I haven’t gotten your picks. You can make changes after you have turned in your picks as long as you do so by 11:00a.m Sunday, but remember the point spread doesn’t change. The USA Today’s Wednesday edition posted point spread will still be in effect. When a game is on Thursday or Saturday, your pick for that game only will have to be turned in by 1900 Thursday or 1100 Saturday, if you miss the Thursday or Saturday game, still send in your picks for Sunday. If for some reason you can't get your picks in, give them to someone participating in this contest and make sure I get them ASAP. If you do not turn in your picks on time, you will receive one loss less than the lowest record of the week. 6. In the event of a tie at the end of the season for 1st-6th, the total of the two positions involved will be divided. (Ex: If 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are decided and the next two are tied for fourth, they will split 4th and 5th). If there is a tie for 6th or middle of the pack then those who are tied will split the amount of 6th and middle of the pack only. 7. Payments and payouts will be done buy mail this year, so be sure I get your mailing address. Please do your best to keep everything off-duty and away from work. If anyone has a problem with this process, please make it known to everyone. 2006-2007 Playoffs 1. Rules are the same as they were for the season with one exception. In addition to picking the winners of a game using the point spread, you will also pick whether the total points listed in the USA Today’s Wednesday edition Danny Sheridan’s odds will be over or under. (Example: WAS at Dal, Was is favored by 7.5, at the end of the column lists total points, lets say 42, you pick WAS and under... final WAS 21 Dal 14 you get credited with two wins. 2. Stats start over for the playoffs and the winner is determined after the Super bowl. Remember for the Super bowl I need three picks, 1st the winner, 2nd over/under, and 3rd the tiebreaker total points. 3. Here is an example of how the playoffs will work. If there are 25 players, I play for free for running the contest, so 24 players at $10.00 = $240.00. 1st place pays $170.00, 2nd place pays $70.00.
