Tips for Collecting Baseball Cards

Collecting Baseball cards Is very different than collecting autographs. In some ways it's easier, but in some ways it's harder. Now a days, with all the different card companies, brand names, inserts, ect., it can get very confusing. As you read this you will learn by my methods to have fun and make a little money collecting baseball cards.

Fisrt, you have to decide who or what you want to collect. For instance, I collect Ken Griffey Jr. cards and Topps baseball cards. If you choose a certian player to collect, it might be a little costly but your collection will be worth more in value to other collectors and yourself. Mostly people at this time collect certian player because it is much easier than collecting whole sets. But then again it is up to you.

Set collecting is a very difficult thing to collect. 10 years ago it was less difficult to collect sets because there was only 4 or 5 major brands to collect. Now there is over 30 different sets to collect. Most of packs in the sets cost $5 or more a piece w/ only 3 or 4 cards included in the pack. Now to me that is a rip off and I'll stick to player collecting. That way I know what I am getting for my dollar.

Now player collecting is a bit different. In this method, you go out searching for one or two certian players. In which most cases they are your favorite players. This can be cheap or expensive depending on the player and which particular kind of card it is. I feel this is the way to go for a person on a low buget, os they know what they get for thier dollar. This is also a recommandation for beginers.

Well that is about it for collecting baseball cards. Sorry i do not have a lot to say, but i have slowed down in collecting baseball cards over the past year due to the fact that I would like to expand my collection of autographs. For further referance of baseball cards, Beckett.Com.
