On this
page are pictures of the two bulletin boards that I created, and a picture of
the system that I used for classroom management.
This bulletin
board was dedicated to showing off students work. We were reading the book,
Matilda, by Roald Dahl and they had a few writing assignments to write about the
book. The background is cloud fabric that I bought at the local fabric store. I
feel the fabric adds more color then traditional paper.
This bulletin board was dedicated to assisting me teach the social studies
unit on Westward Expansion. As you may be able to see there are various pictures
and descriptions of items found during this time of history.
Lastly, this is a picture of the classroom management style that I used. In
the morning white cards with the students names were placed in the pockets. When
they came in in the morning they would place their white card in a envelope for
either "packing" or "buying." This made the lunch count and attendance much
easier for me. In addition, if a child was misbehaving they were told to "pull a
card". When they pulled their card they also had to fill out a form that stated:
"what I did" and "next time I will". This way the child is explaining what they
did wrong and how to fix it. They had three chances a day, and then they had to
stay in from recess. On Fridays I then mailed the forms home to the parents to
help keep them informed of their child's behaviors.
