The Parents Page
Miss Bell's Classroom

Parents, I have created this page to help keep you informed about what is going on in your child's classroom. On this page is where I will have homework assignments, classwork and classroom news available to parents every day. I hope this will assist both the parents and the students. I feel this will be a very valuable tool for students who accidentally forget their homework. My goal for this page is to have it updated by 5:00 P.M. each night. You will be able to tell if it has been updated by the date and time I will place on the bottom of the page. In addition the projects that we are working on and pictures will hopefully be located on this page

If you remember at parent/teacher conferences Mrs. Linn said that she was going to have her own web page. If you follow this link you will be able to get all of the up to date assignments and news. Click here

Class Information regarding missing work
On Fridays any student who has missing work will receive a "missing work report" The student then has the weekend to turn in the late work. If the student turns in the work they will receive the proper grade. However, if they do not turn in the work, a zero will be place in the gradebook.

Important Information

Parents, I have redesigned the sentence editing process. Now, on Monday, we will do the Monday sentences together as a class. The students are then responsible for the rest of the week's sentences at home. They are allowed to ask for your assistance, and use their Writers Express. The sentences are due NO LATER then first thing Thursday morning

The class is also to write a response journal at the middle and end of the book they are currently reading. Within the next two days I am going to place the handout on here to assist you and your child in writing the journal. I am keeping track of where the students"should be" in their books and when their responses are due.

Classroom Management

Mrs. Linn and I have designed a new way to deal with classroom behavior. All the students are given three cards, which are placed on a display with their numbers. If any student in particular is misbehaving, I will tell them to "pull their card". The student must then replace the card with the next card. After that they are to fill out a form stating their behavior and why it was wrong. If a student pulls three cards in one day they will be placed in work-study. If this happen two times in one week either a call home or letter will be sent to the parents. We will discuss this in more detail at conference time. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have about this new system.
