LAST GAME - COLERAINE 2-0 GLENTORAN
Coleraine got their title chase underway again against pre-match league leaders Glentoran. This match marked Rory Hamill's debut for Coleraine after joining from the East Belfast side in the summer. Coleraine needed a win to avoid falling any further behind the top teams and the Bannsiders did not disappoint!

However, it was the visitors, Glentoran who started the match the brightest. Chances were wasted by Haylock, Young and Nixon and the Glens were left to rue these missed oppourtunities. After a nervous first 20 minutes from Coleraine the Bannsiders started to settle into the game and pass the ball about. On the half hour Coleraine took the lead. Neat work from Stuart Clanchan on the right gave Jody Tolan a chance to cross. He planted the ball on Pat McAllister's head and the former Cliftonville man looped his header over Gough and into the net.

In the second half Glentoran tried to push forward but our defence snuffed out any trouble. The Glens strikeforce of Haylock and Armour had no joy against an impressive central defence pairing of Paul Gaston and Ryan McLaughlin.

Coleraine got the all important insurance goal with 15 minutes of the match left. The Glentoran keeper Gough rushed out to the dge of his box and Jody Tolan was left to effectively end the match as a contest. It could have been 3 soon after a powerful header from Gaston was well saved by Gough.
