Matadors News

OK, I know I've been behind in updating the page. So sue me. But I don't feel like trying to remember every little detail that happened over the course of the season--mainly because I can't rememeber the dates they happened on (e.g. trades, call-ups, etc.)

Matadors acquire D Eon MacFarlane from Pensacola

To complete the earlier trade that send Jeff Kostuch and Sheldon Gorski to Pensacola, the Matadors acquired defenseman Eon MacFarlane. (Eon is such a cool name, IMHO.)

1/12/98    Sheldon Gorksi and Jeff Kostuch traded

RW Sheldon Gorski and C Jeff Kostuch were traded to Pensacola today in exchange for D Kelly Hultgren.

****Hultgren did not report to Miami, and was suspended by the Matadors. What an absolutely WORTHLESS trade. IMHO, it was a stupid trade in the first place, trading our leading scorer and a kick-ass centerman.

12/28/98    Brent Belecki Named Goaltender of the Week (again)

Congratulations to Brent Belecki on being named Goaltender of the Week in the ECHL for the 2nd time in 3 weeks!
