A TRIBUTE TO DANIELA SILIVAS

Welcome to my little tribute to Daniela Silivas and my various adventures in gymnastics la-la land.

It all began in Seoul'88. The Seoul Olympics.

Will never forget the 'ball-by-ball' commentary by an amazing pair of New Zealanders (Marian Duncan and Tony Palmer) in the commentators booth. They were enlightening in their detailed descriptions. You actually appreciated how difficult the routines were in their clear, concise commentary. I was educated, I was hooked. The neck-to-neck rivalry of the Romanians and the Soviets left me on the edge of my seat. Daniela Silivas of Romania lost the All-Around championship by a tiny fraction of a point, but came back the next night with a vengeance on the Apparatus Finals, sweeping 3 golds and one bronze. I'm a believer!

I wish to dedicate this page to the great DANIELA SILIVAS and the wonderful ladies of TEAM UZBEKISTAN.
