KSAC PLAYERS TO PLAY IN D-9 ALL-STAR GAME APRIL 1

    DuBOIS -- The top senior high school basketball players from District 9 woll compete in the inaugural Alice R. Kozel Foundation D-9 All-Star Game April 1 at the DuBois ARea Middle School. There will be a girls' game at 6 p.m. and a boys' game at 8 p.m. Eight KSAC players will be on one boys' squad with five KSAC players on one girls' squad.

KEYSTONE'S BANNER NAMED
KSAC MVP

    Keystone senior Chris Banner is the 1999-2000 Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference MVP in voting conducted by the league coaches Monday night.
     Banner, a 6-3 forward, was the Panthers leading scorer this season at 18.6 points per game this season and helped the Panthers to a 22-6 overall record, a 12-4 KSAC mark, a third-place finish in the KSAC and a second-place finish in District 9. Baner's 18.6 ppg were third best in the conference this season.
     Joining Banner on the first team All-KSAC are North Clarion's Mike Carr (19.8 ppg), Union Dustin Laughlin (20.4 ppg), Clarion Area's Jeff Bruner (13.4 ppg) and Redbank Valley's Darren Duhnke (17.9 ppg). Laughlin was the top scorer in the KSAC this season, while Carr was second and Duhnke fourth. Bruner picked his game up in conference play averaging 14.7 ppg in KSAC games, sixth best in the league. He was the top scorer on the KSAC champion Bobcats.
     Six player made the KSAC second team including Karns City's Rob Kusick (15.8 ppg & 54 treys), A-C Valley's Keith Lukasavich (17.1 ppg), Keystone's Raoul Whitaker (11.2 ppg), Clarion Area's Brad Larson (13.3 ppg), North Clarion's Kurt Wolbert (14.6 ppg) and Karns City's Greg King (13.3 ppg).
     Being named honorable mention are A-C Valley's Pat Moore (13.8 ppg), North Clarion Ken Siegel (13.2 ppg), C-L's J.J. Ferguson (11.5 ppg), Moniteau's Aaron Brinkley (15. 9 ppg & 55 treys) and Clayton Kirschner (14.2 ppg) and Redbank Valley's Andy Bish (9.4 ppg).

                                                                 What is the KSAC?
     The Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference (KSAC) is an athletic conference within the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association's District 9 which is the biggest district in the state and includes most of the North-central part of the state.
     Nine schools play boys' basketball in the KSAC. They are: A-C Valley Falcons, Clarion Area Bobcats, Clarion-Limestone Lions, Karns City Gremlins, Keystone Panthers, Moniteau Warriors, North Clarion Wolves, Redbank Valley Bulldogs and Union Golden Knights.
     A-C Valley, Clarion Area, C-L, Keystone, North Clarion and Union are Class A schools (the smallest classification in PA), while Karns City, Moniteau and Redbank Valley are Class AA schools.
