Player of the Midseason Mike Carr - North Clarion This wasn't a hard choice, Carr has once again led the way for North Clarion, who is 13-0 through Friday night. Carr leads the conference in scoring and is doing so despite being forced to play a handful of games ar point guard because of the inhury to Kurt Wolbert in December. He once again proved he was capable of handling the point as well as any of the other four positions on the court. He is by far the best player in the conference and possibly the best player in the district. Newcomer of the Midseason Dusty Niederriter - North Clarion This one was a little harder, as there have been a lot of nice players getting their first real look at varsity minutes this season. But the performance of Neiderriter of the last couple of weeks where he has scored 15 points in wins over Keystone and Moniteau gives him the nod in this category. Neiderriter provides valuable rebounding and inside scoring for the Wolves and gives them a fourth option to go along with Carr, Wolbert and Ken Siegel. Surprise Team of the Midseason A-C Valley I sure the heck didn't think the Falcons would be above .500 right now and holding their own in the conference, but they are. A-C Valley has a good shot at fourth place in the KSAC after knocking off Redbank Valley Friday night. The Falcons have a nice one-two, inside-outside punch in forward Keith Lukasavich and point guard Pat Moore. Add to the mix the likes of Dan King, Chris Marron and others and the Falcons have the talent to reach the playoffs, something I didn't think would happen at the start of the season. My Midseason pick for final KSAC standings 1. North Clarion 2. Keystone 3. Clarion Area 4. A-C Valley 5. Karns City 6. Redbank Valley 7. Moniteau 8. Union 9. C-L |

Player of the Midseason Mike Carr - North Clarion I hear a lot of grumbling about Chris Banner of Keystone being the best player. Sorry, I don't bu it. Banner is the best post player in the league, but Carr is the best player in the league. He leads the league in scoring, plays every position and has excellent vision and playmaking skills when running the fast break. Newcomer of the Midseason Dusty Niederriter - North Clarion His numbers of late have gone up, and he was the leading scorer for NC in the big game against Keystone. Yes he scored 10 points real quick and five the rest of the way, but he has proven that if you leave him alone he can score on you. Surprise Team of the Midseason A-C Valley This was a toug call for me. I didn't know whether I should give this to A-C Valley for its success or to Redbank Valley because of its inconsistency. But I gave the nod to A-C Valley because they weren't suppose to be above .500 at any point in the season. The Falcons will play hard and tough for four quarters.
My Midseason pick for final KSAC standings 1. North Clarion 2. Keystone 3. Clarion Area 4. A-C Valley 5. Redbank Valley 6. Karns City 7. Union 8. Moniteau 9. C-L |
