Needs:
First they let Rodney Rogers walk. He was pretty good when K-Mart was out with injuries last year. Then they lost Kenyon for three draft picks. I don't understand why you would pay Kidd the max when he has just a few good years left then tank the team for those years.

A Kidd for Parker and Ginobli deal would be great for the Nets about now, along with the Kittles and Aaron Williams for Shareef Abdul Rahim. That way they would still make the playoffs (barely) this year and next year their books would be clean. Jefferson and Parker could mature together.

Prediction: More salaries will be dumped. I'm sure Dallas would have to be interested if Kidd is made available. Even Portland could show interest as Stoudamire's contract would be more palatable to the Nets. A Kidd/Kittles swap for Stoudamire/Rahim would make the Blazers contenders and free up cap space for the Nets next year while keeping them decent this year.
