Jimmy Kubina, seen here pitching in Three Rivers Stadium, made the All Section 2 AAA Team as a Senior. He made 1st Team as an outfielder and 2nd Team as a pitcher. Jim also holds the single game strike out record with 15. Robbie Radosevich is seen in the background.
Robbie Radosevich takes a hard look at the pitch. Robbie hit a whopping .436 as a Senior and made 1st Team All Section 2 AAA.

This Three Rivers mound conference shows Shortstop Larry Henckel talking to Jim Kubina (back to the camera). Catcher J.R. Ellsworth (also back to the camera) chats with First Baseman, Brad Davis and Second Bagger, Craig Zvolenski. Davis hit .413 during his Senior Season and was honored as 1st Team All Section First Baseman. Craig started as a Junior and Senior and actually was on the Tri-Valley/Albert Gallatin squad for 7 years, serving as batboy for 3 years.

These Colonials look on from the dugout at Three Rivers Stadium during this 1996 game versus Marion Center. Players that can be identified from left to right are Craig Zvolenski, Brian Lewis, Kevin Lindsay, Scott Vansickle, Brad Davis, and J.R. Ellsworth. As a Senior, Scott lead or tied the 1997 squad in doubles(6), triples(2), homeruns (3), and batting average (.435). He was team captain and was selected 2nd Team All Section 2 AAA.

Jimmy Cole (on the left) and Mike Etheridge (right) were battery mates since the middle of the 1994 Season. Mike provided refined defensive skills to make even stronger the "iron net" defense of the '94 Colonials. He made 2nd Team All Section 2 AAA as a Senior and holds Colonial Single Game Records for homeruns (2) and R.B.I.s (6). He also holds the record for R.B.I.s in a season with 21. Jimmy was the only Colonial named Section 2 AAA M.V.P. He also was the only Colonial to be named 1st Team All Section three years in a row. Jim is a team record setter in: Pitching Wins in a season (6-in 1994 and 1995), Pitching Strike outs in a season (64), Career Innings Pitched (107.2), Career Wins (14) and Career Strike outs (111). He is currently the 9th Grade coach and Varsity Pitching Coach.

This dynamic foursome shared the team captainship of the 1993 squad. From left to right are: (Catcher) C.J. Girod, (Pitcher) Bill Wilson, (Infielder) Clint Zvolenski, (outfielder) Bryan Fabbri. C.J. was the team catcher and won Honorable Mention in All Section voting. Billy Wilson was the team leader in pitching wins and was voted to 2nd Team All Section. Clint was a major offensive power for the '93 Griffins and made 1st Team All Section 2 AAA. Bryan was the team center fielder and earned 2nd Team All Section honors.

Eric Mangosh, on the left, and Brian Kopec (right) were the team captains of the 1992 Tri-Valley Griffins. Kopec pitched and played shortstop. He also provided 27 hits in the 92 campaign (Team Single Season Record) and a lifetime batting average of .376. Eric was "The Griffin" power hitter holding the team career record for Homeruns (7), Triples (6), Doubles (22), and Hits (59).

Left to Right: Brian Goletz (Assistant), Rob Chory (Head Coach) , and Shawn Chory (Assistant) are seen here as the 1995-96-97 coaches of the Albert Gallatin Colonials. Rob Chory has been the head coach since the consolidation in 1988. Shawn joined the staff in 1991 and Brian in 1995. Shawn was the second baseman on the 1988 and 89 Griffins. He led the section and was second in the WPIAL in stolen bases with 37 (Team Record) as a Junior. Brian was an outfielder on the 1989 Tri-Valley Team and was among the team leaders in hits. Lud Kopec (not pictured) also coached for the Griffins/Colonials since 1992 before stepping down at the end of the '97 campaign. Also (not pictured) joining the coaching staff for 1998 is Lou Kovach and Jimmy Cole.

Billy Umble was a slick fielding shortstop on the 1988/89 Tri-Valley Griffins. Billy was the first player to be elected All Section 2 AAA. He made 1st team as a Junior and 2nd team as a Senior.

These four are taking advantage of the shade before a 1993 contest. Left to Right: Juniors: Donnie Miller, Jeff Kelley, and Billy Layhue. Back: Chad Shaneyfelt. Donnie played errorless baseball throughout his high school career taking many potential hits away from opposing hitters. Billy Layhue provided solid defense at second base and also pitched. Jeff's speed made him a valuable outfielder and Chad handled third base. Chad had a key double, driving in the winning runs, against Connellsville in a big 1994 section clash.
