This is my compilation of information to date that should help trace the Clendinneng family name. The name is supposed to have originated in Ireland and eventually came to Montreal, Canada sometime before 1867. The name has various spellings and can be found across Canada and the United States. To date the my earliest knowledge is of a William Clendinneng who operated an iron foundry in what is now Old Montreal.
