In spite of constant ridicule that I receive from friends for listening to Country music, I find the music of Tim McGraw to be work of the first great philosophical mind of the new millenium...Okay, well at least he's just really quotable.

Memory Lane
People ask me What you doin' son
You're gonna drive yourself insane
You'll never find the sunshine
When you're followin' the rain

Indian Outlaw
They all gather 'round my teepee
Late at night tryin' to catch a peek at me
In nothin' but my buffalo briefs
I got 'em standin' in line
Ain't that just like a dream
Runnin' wild and runnin' free
We were rebels chasin' time against the wind
Sometimes I long for just one night
Of the way I felt back then
But ain't that just like a dream
It always ends
All I Want is a Life
All I want is a life
To drink from a glass from a well that ain't dry
I'm sick of the crumbs I want a piece of that pie
All I want is a life

I Didn't Ask and She Didn't Say
We said our goodbyes
Swore we'd stay in touch
Then we went our separate ways
Knowing no one ever does

When She Wakes up and Finds me Gone
'Cause I don't want to see me leaving in her eyes
And I can't stand to watch her watch me
   make her cry
And I don't know a right way I can do her wrong
So I don't want to be here in the morning
When she wakes up and finds me gone

Where the Green Grass Grows
I'm gonna live where the green grass grows
Watch my corn pop up in rows

For a Little While
I laugh, everytime I start to think about us
We sent that summer out in style
She's gone, but she left me with a smile
‘Cause she was mine for a little while
Honey you Turn me on
Yeah, you cranked my tractor
Ya flick my bic
Woman you tripped the trigger on my
    thingamajig
Can't explain how ya done it
But, honey, you turn me on
Seventeen
Seventeen only comes once in a lifetime
Don't it just fly by wild and free
Goin any way the wind blew, baby
Seventeen, livin on crazy dreams
Rock and roll and faded blue jeans
And standing on the edge of everything
Somebody Must be Prayin' for Me
Somebody out there must be prayin' for me
Must be angels I can't see
Somebody must be prayin' for me, yeah

Something Like That
Like an old photograph
Time can make a feeling fade
But the memory of a first love
Never fades away
Please Remember Me
When all our tears have reached the sea
Part of you will live in me
Way down deep inside my heart
The days keep coming without fail
A new wind is gonna find your sail
That's where your journey starts
Carry on
I try to walk the sunny side of the street
Don’t let no shadows tangle up my feet
There ain’t no troubles that we can’t rise above
With a handful of faith and a heartful of love
Carry on
Carry on What don’t kill us makes us strong
My Next Thirty Years
I think I’ll take a moment, celebrate my age
The ending of an era and the turning of a page
Now it’s time to focus in on where I go from here
Lord have mercy on my next thirty years
Eyes of a Woman
What you can find in the eyes of a woman
Is a reason to believe
Look deep inside the eyes of a woman
See the man you want to be
A Place in the Sun
Someday I’ll find a way to shine
Leave all these rainy days behind
I know there’s got to be
Some place warm and bright for me
I’m running out of places I can run
Looking for a place in the sun
"Everywhere" album liner
We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go  we take a little of each other.... everywhere.

The Trouble With Never
I know how to stay carefree
Let no one get a hold on me
But I can't keep my hands off her
There's something different about this girl
