This is something that we all should be aware of.

As you read this article, be aware that annually we only sign-up less than 500 kids.  We try every year to sign up more kids, but to no avail.  I'm sure there are MANY reasons for this.  Not the least of which are kids moving onto other things (basketball, soccer, etc), family moves, cultural indifference (parents not into sports), and SUB-PAR COACHING.

We would LOVE to be signing up 1000 kids per year and need to split!  But it just isn't happening.  As a board member, I am very interested in why kids don't come back to play baseball.  Retaining our kids is the #1 reason that our senior all-stars were able to accomplish what they did.  These boys have been playing TOGETHER for many years.  Retention and POSITIVE, consistent coaching of the FUNDAMENTALS of baseball is what it takes!
