In six seasons (1985-1990) the combination of Montana to Rice connected for 55 touchdown passes.They also hooked up for 13 more touchdown passes in post season play.Montana's ability to spot open recievers, even when looking off one reciever after another,and Rice's precision pass routes proved to be a winning combination.Both men are destine to enter the Football Hall of Fame.

Joe Montana's 49er History:

Joe was drafted in third round of the 1979 draft out of Notre Dame.

Joe became the staring Quarterback in his second season.

Joe led the team to first SuperBowl in 1981,Super Bowl XVI,a win,Joe was named the MVP.

In 1984 Joe led team back to a Super Bowl win in Super Bowl XIX and he again was named game's Most valuable Player.

Joe returned to his third Super Bowl,Super Bowl XXIII, in 1988 and drove the team the length of the field with less than 4 minutes and tossing a winning touchdown to JohnTaylor.

Joe help his team repeat in 89 by demolishing the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV.Joe won his third MVP award.This was also Joe's last Super Bowl appearance.

Joe missed the entire 1991 season with a torn tendon in his elbow.

In 1992 he missed all but a half of the last season game due to an injury.

Joe spent 14 seasons with the 49ers before being traded to the Kansa City Chiefs in 1993.

Joe help take a perennial loser and turn them imto a 4 time world champions. Good job "Super Joe".
