MY LIFE

Hello, my name is Nick Raymond, I am from Northfield Massachusetts. Northfield is a small town located in the western part of Massachusetts. The Connecticut River divides Northfield into two parts. I graduated from Pioneer Valley Regional High School in 1998. Throughout high school, I was a stand out athlete in baseball and soccer. In both sports, I began my varsity career as a freshman. I am currently enrolled at Endicott College, in Beverly Massachusetts. I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and I am also playing second base on the baseball team. Baseball is not only a hobby of mine, but it has been a part my family for many years. In 1999, my cousin, Brad Baker, was drafted by the Boston Red Sox. My family has followed the Red Sox for all our lives and it was not only a dream of Brads to become a part of the Red Sox organization, but it was also a dream come true for the entire family.

My family consists of my Mother, Brenda Field, my stepfather, Steve Field, and my two sisters, named Bridget and Ashley, Bridget being the oldest. Presently, Bridget lives in an apartment in Northfield with her boy friend, Kenny. Living in our home is a dog named Kyra, a cat named Jazzy, a bird named Baby, and chickens. My Father, George Raymond, fortunately lives in Northfield, so it is convenient to see him whenever I want.
I love to watch the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, as they are both highly respected teams. The best games to watch are when the Red Sox play the New York Yankees and when the Patriots play the New York Jets. The intensity of those teams going head to head is tremendous and they keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire game. The love I have for sports comes from actually playing the sports myself, whether it would be in high school or college. In high school I was recognized as a standout athlete in both soccer and baseball. Presently, I play second base for the Endicott baseball team and it has been a great experience thus far. Playing baseball has allowed me to meet new friends and it has allowed me to take what I have learned from high school and compete at a more competitive level.
Listening to music is another hobby I enjoy. I do not have a favorite artist and I do not listen to one specific category of music, but I do like to listen to music that has to do with love. My favorite station on the radio is 94.5, which plays R&B and Rap. My favorite country music singer is Garth Brooks, my favorite rock and roll group is Aerosmith, and my favorite R&B group is 112. The female artists I enjoy are Celine Dion and Maria Carey. I enjoy numerous artists that it is difficult to write them all down.
I would have to say that doing homework is also a hobby of mine, because at college you do so much of it that it becomes a part of you. I spend about five hours a night on homework and sometimes more and I am not exaggerating. I care about my grades and what I learn at college, because it is too expensive not to care about the education you are getting. Managing your time is an important aspect for a college student. I have both my academics and sports to worry about and it is often hard to find time to study. It is the dedication and the time management skills I have that make me a successful student here at Endicott.
Traveling is something I would like to do more often, but college makes it difficult to plan any long vacations. The most memorable vacation I have ever been on is when my family and I went to Bermuda. We left Boston on a cruise ship named the Royal Majesty. The ship had a swimming pool, a hot tub, a casino, several bars, a weight room, massage parlor, etc. Being on that ship made me feel so comfortable that I almost forgot that I was several thousands of miles away from land. Bermuda was beautiful, as the water was clear, the temperature was hot, and there were so many beautiful women. I toured the area by bus and viewed all of the tourist attractions, such as, the crystal caves, the beaches, and other sites. Bermuda is a memory that will never be forgotten and I hope that someday I will be back there again!
