Traylor Stars in Win Over Minnesota

The Wolverines beat Minnesota Tuesday 65-57 at Crisler Arena, improving their record to 15-4 (5-1 Big Ten) and puttin ghtemselves alone in first place in the conference. The Wolverines led 26-15 at the half and improved their lead to 37-20 with 15:39 remaining, but Minnesota cut the lead to five with 2:06 left. However, Michigan converted at the line during the final minute to seal the victory. Traylor, playing with a broken nose, ripped off the mask designed to protect it during the game's first minute and went on to score 21 points and grab 12 rebounds. Traylor shot 6 of 11 from the field and 9 of 11 from the free-throw line. He also had two assists, three blocks, and two steals. Traylor is now averaging a team-high 19.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in Big Ten competition.

Michigan Wins 2 After Indiana Loss

After an embarrasing 80-62 loss at Indiana Tuesday, January 6, Michigan bounced back to beat Michigan State 79-69 at home and Ohio State 79-61 on the road. The win over Ohio State gave Michigan a share of the lead in the conference standings. Traylor starred in the Indiana and Michigan State games, scoring 25 points and grabbing 10 boards against Indiana and registering his eleventh double-double this season against Michigan State with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Against OSU, he scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds in just 21 minutes of play.

U of M Wins FIrst Two Big Ten Contests

Michigan won its first two Big Ten contests of the year, defeating Wisconsin 76-63 at Madison and then coming home to beat Penn State 92-75. Against Wisconsin, Michigan pulled away after letting Wisconsin climb to within 64-63. Michigan led throughout against Penn State, at one point taking a 35-9 advantage. Traylor scored 12 points and had 11 rebounds against Wisconsin and then registered a career-high 27 (on 12 for 14 shooting) to go with ten rebounds against Penn State.

Michigan Dominates Puerto Rico Classic

Michigan routed Syracuse 93-61 Friday, December 26, to take the Puerto Rico Holiday Classic. The loss was Syracuse's first after a 12-0 start. Traylor scored 15 in the game and had eight rebounds and five assists. Earlier, the Wolverines defeated previously unbeaten Murray State 76-53 and Division II American University of Puerto Rico 93-49. Traylor averaged 11.7 points and 10.3 rebounds for the tourney. He was named to the all-tournament team along with teammates Maceo Baston (13 ppg), Jerod Ward (16), and Louis Bullock (15.3).
