First Pack

The exact contents of the first pack scanned in and used to find insert odds:

Mark Messier #64
Patrick Roy #23
Evgeni Nabokov PS-2002
Sean Burke PS-2002
Alexei Morozov Patch (barely 2-col)
Manny Fernandez #47
Doug Weight #83

First Pack Comments: It's a patch card, although this particular one was simple to cheryypick out of the box so it wasn't like it was a surprise. Morozov was pretty good last year until he was injured, although the patch is a relatively ugly one, only a slight hint of a second color.

For product review please see my previous box break.

Excellent break on this one. I was pretty happy with almost every aspect of this box. The Patches were probably the best part, Morozov has some offensive potential and then you follow that with a great looking Jagr patch. Beyond that, even the game used jerseys were pretty good. Fata is really the only hopeless one, all the others are quality NHLers. All the jerseys were one colored, which was a bit of a disappointment, but overlookable considering the quality of names.

The goodness continued on into the inserts. Vaclav Nedorost showed a lot of promise in Colorado and he should get more playing time in Carolina to prover himself, so that's a nice RC to get. Parallels of Leetch and Naslund are great picks as well as the Dany Heatley SP. The only real bad pick of the insert lot is the Kris Beech Rookie Reserve, but they can't all be great. And who knows, Beech could still surprise.

Good value and good fun. Private Stock delivers another quality break!
