First Pack

The exact contents of the first pack scanned in and used to find insert odds:

Eric Daze #31
Dominik Hasek #49
Jaromir Jagr #142
Alexei Kovalev/Rich Parent Dual Jersey
Darcy Tucker #133

First Pack Comments: Kovalev is cool. Rich Parent jersey is ridiculous for a $10+ pack. (Note: I did NOT cherrypick this pack, however packs containing patch cards are ridiculously easy to cherrypick from this product, so beware of loose packs on eBay!)
First Pack Rating: 4.0 / 10

This box was a real up and down box. On the plus side, there was an awesome Jeff O'Neill patch there (and while the Cole patch isn't visually as nice, I still aprreciate that it is a Cole ptch). The Sundin/Sakic is sweet as well, with a sliver of a second color on Sundin's swatch. Turegon came with a beautiful two color swatch also.

The problem is all the no-namers. Rich Parent, Jamie McLennan, Felix Potvin argueably Filip Kuba... these are not guys that belong anywhere within a $10+ pack. There is nothing more annoying that seeing a Rich Parent jersey come out of a pack you just shelled out $10 for.

The inserts helped bring the box back a bit, the Heatley Three Stars Selections was a bit of a longshot pull, and the parallels were both of some quality players. Still, they cannot completely wash away the sour aftertaste of some of those jersey card pulls.

You win some and you lose some I suppose. And actually considering this is a "loser" box, there was an awful lot in here for one of the duds of the product!
