2003-04 Topps Pristine Pack Break

Once again this is a pack break of the extremely high end 2003-04 Topps Pristine. These packs are quite interesting in that they are really 3 in one: there's the Uncirculated card in one "sub-pack", the rookies in another, and a game used in the final. So here's what it looks like and what I got in my two packs.

First Pack

First sub-pack (Uncirculated card)



Uncirculated Dan Hamhuis Rookie Refractor (285/499)
Pack #2

Sweet! Not only a rookie, but a rookie refractor! And Dan Hamhuis definately has some quality upside. Not a bad uncirculated card to pick up!

Second sub-pack (One relic card)



Pristine Portions Saku Koivu Jersey (white)
Pack #3

Well, Saku wasn't who I was going for and it's a plain white swatch, but on the upside he is a big name in the hobby and has generated a lot of hobby love.

Third sub-pack (4 base and 2 rookies, possibly pack #4):

Needless to say this was a great pack to open! The rookies aren't much ... despite Bergenheim being an uncommon neither he nor Peters are likely to generate massive appeal. But the Turco auto is amazing (nice design too)!

What is it about Marty Turco tonight? This is the FOURTH big Turco card I've pulled. Stop with the Turco!!

Pristine Patches Refractor Justin Williams (5/10)!!
Pack #3

Oh man, does this make all the Turco's tonight worth it! The biggest card of all is of one of my favorites. Laugh all you want about the patch being one color, this bad boy is numbered 5/10!! It's also got 1:72 odds from a $30/pack product with a big checklist! I don't care how many colors it has!!

Not a whole lot here, which isn't surprising after that amazing pull on the last sub-pack. At least I've heard of Exelby and Hamhuis and Hamhuis does have some long term potential.
