For a product review, please see my first box break here.

Well, I got my first 10 rated box from Donruss Prefferred last Christmas, so I figured I'd try another one this Christmas. Sadly, this one was a far cry from the previous one.

The first noticable thing is the lousy Silvers I ended up pulling. The Gretzky and Jagr National Treasures are alright, but beyond that there's not a whole lot of big hobby names. The Cut to the Chase parallels were similar, there were a lot of them, but just not many big hobby names. The one Platinum in the box being Eric Lindros also didn't help, nor did the lack of any Silver Cut to the Chase cards.

But that's not to say nothing good came from the box. I did get an usually high number of the Line of the Times cards, an insert set I really like. I also managed the parallel of Vaclav Prospal's Rookie Card. It's not the official RC, but it is the next best thing.

This box wasn't a complete loss, it was an enjoyable break and there were a few perks to come out of it. Not like my last break at all ... and this box really illustrates that without a Precious Metals or a rarer RC pull Prefferred is all about the nostagilia and the box break experience.
