Topps Premier Plus works quite well as a lower end brand. The inserts are well designed and generously spread throughout the box, the base checklist is decent and has some rookies splattered through it, and there are some homerun pulls to keep everyone interested. Game Used/Autographs average about one per two boxes while the other box is going to usually have an insert parallel. Combining all these together, every box will have some kind of longshot pull in it, giving you something at the end of every break.

Unforetunately for me, this box was one that had the insert parallel. Pulling a limited Jaromir Jagr parallel isn't the worst thing in the world, but compare to an autograph or a game used, it definately feels like missing out. The inserts were all there as expected as was a complete base set. The Blue Ice parallels were great to me, landing Francis and Jagr, and the Premier Rookies were the best I could have hoped for with Tanguay and Gagne.

But still, whenever you miss out on a Game Used/Auto in favor of a sparkly card, there's going to be some regret involved. Regardless, for the price even the boxes without the GU/Auto are well worth it. Some nice parallels and inserts await and while the seasoned collector may not be thrilled, it gives newcomers to the hobby something sweet to break.
