    I. Object
The object of the game is to accumulate more wins in individual competition than any other team. Each team "plays" every other team twice a year. Teams "play" each other each week by comparing one team's statistics to those of a competing team. Competitors are determined by the schedule outlined in section X. Each team's statistics are those accumulated by active players (including September roster expansion players) during the week in the categories used for computing standings in regular FABL competition. In computing statistics, every team must accumulate at least 25 innings pitched for the week. Failure of a team to meet this requirement will result in zero points awarded for that week only for the team’s ERA and WHIP categories. One point is awarded for each category in which a team betters its foe. No point is awarded for a category when the teams' totals are equal for that category. For example, if Team 1 hits ten home runs during the week, and his competition, Team 2, hits nine, then Team 1 gets one point. The team with the most points gets a Win, and the opposing team gets a Loss.

    II. Division Assignment
If 9 or more teams participate, 3 divisions will be constructed. If 8 or fewer teams participate, 2 divisions will be constructed. The previous year’s final regular FABL standings determines assignment of teams to a number and division. An example division alignment based on 1996 standings is listed below:

Babe Ruth Division Willie Mays Division	Ty Cobb Division
    1 - Lake Superios 2 - Romo Cops 3 - Derrick’s Drillers
    6 - Schulz’s Commandoes 5 - Miller Time 4 - Benny & The Jets
    7 - Extra Cheese 8 - A Field of Dreams	9 - Cooperstown Bound
    12 - American Gladiators 11 - The Schwackers	10 - The Best Team Ever
III. Determining Winners and Computing Standings
Winners and losers are determined by comparing the current week's overall statistics for each team. Standings will be presented with the regular FABL statistics as shown below (The following standings are fictional. Teams and records were randomly selected just to demonstrate how standings will look):

    HEAD-TO-HEAD LEAGUE STANDINGS

Babe Ruth Division	W L GB	Willie Mays Division	W L GB	Ty Cobb Division	W L GB
    American Gladiators	7 2 -	Extra Cheese 8 1 -	Benny & The Jets	6 3 -
    Lake Superiors 6 3 1	Field of Dreams 7 2 1	Schulz’s Commandoes	5 4 1
    Derrick’s Drillers	2 7 5	Cooperstown Bound	4 5 4	The Schwackers 5 4 1
    Romo Cops 1 8 6	Miller Team 2 7 6	Best Team Ever 1 8 5
    IV. Tiebreakers
If a weekly competition or "game" results in a tie, the league's Innings Pitched/At Bat tie breaker rule (i. e., the team with the greater sum of AB + (3*IP)) will be applied. Only the IPs and ABs accumulated during that week's competition may be used to calculate the winner. If the teams are still tied, the League Commissioner will flip a coin to determine the winner.

    V. Division Championships
The team that wins the most games in each division wins the division championship. Ties for division champion will be resolved by determining the team with the better record in "games" pitting the two tied teams. If their records against each other are the same, the team with the highest total points from regular FABL competition through the final regular season head-to-head week (adjusted for the innings rule) wins the division. If still tied, the team with the greater sum of AB + (3*IP) wins the division (using all innings pitched and at bats for the season thru the final regular season head-to-head week).

    VI. Playoffs
The Playoffs begin one week after the end of the regular season head-to-head schedule in order to determine the playoff teams and allow them to make transactions. In a three division league, the division champions and the wild card team (2nd place team with the best record) are seeded according to their head-to-head records. The division champion with the best record plays the wild card team. The other two division champions play each other.

If only two divisions are used, two wild card teams will be determined. The division champion with the best record plays the wild card team with the worst record. The other division champion plays the remaining wild card team.

Any ties when determining best records and wild card teams will be resolved by comparing the teams’ standing in the regular FABL competition. Playoff competition is head-to-head.

    VII. The World Series
The World Series takes place in the week following the playoffs. The two playoff winners will play each other for the league championship (and for whatever prize money is available). World Series competition is head-to-head.

    VIII. Fees
Fees to raise prize money will be $10 (negotiable) per team if paid on Draft Day. A $5 late penalty will be assessed if fee is paid late. The cutoff for participation in the head-to-head competition will be the conclusion of week three.

    IX. Prize Money
70% of the prize money accumulated from fees goes to the winner of the World Series; 30% to the loser of the World Series.

    X. Creating a Schedule
All teams will be assigned team numbers whether they participate or not. This is to ensure that there are teams for those who are participating to play against. Only participating teams will be assigned to divisions.
