The capo is not absolutely necessary but it helps. Now, I orignally had started a file that went through this tune note for note, with strumming patterns, but that turned out to be a pipe dream, since that file now resides several hundred KMs south of me (just moved to TO). Oh well, if you can't figure out strumming for this song, then you shouldn't be allowed to own the CD. :) enjoy The Verse: G---------16-16-14---11--/-/-/--|--12-/-/-/-/-/--11--/-/-/----- D--.------16---------12--/-/-/--|--14-/-/-/-/-/--12--/-/-/--.-- A--.--14-------------12---------|--14------------12---------.-- E-------------------------------|------------------------------ You'll notice the 14th and 12th fret on string A ring through the length of each chord, forming what you could call BASS notes. This is a common guitar practice to add sonic depth (which is of course very important to a two piece band). Make sure these notes ring as long as your fingers will allow them too, it's harder than it looks. Chorus: Power Chord City. (chords used) E or E G F# G--------9---12---11--- D--14----9---12---11--- A--14----7---10---9---- E--12------------------ This makes up the bulk of each chorus: E -> G -> F# The patterns are very evident on the album. Bridge: Ahh the tricky part, since I believe a chorus pedal or something similiar is used on these chords. D F E G <---something like that G---14---17---16---12---- D---12---15---14---12---- A---12---15---14---10---- E------------------------ D -> F -> E -> G (repeat) same style progression as the chorus but with that G thrown in when the drums break down a bit between phrases. Fills: Pre-chorus fill Crazy Chorus fill G------------------|---11-------------------------------- D-------------(7)--|-------14--12-11----------------14--- A-----------7------|-----------------14-12----------14--- back to E----X--10---------|-----------------------15-14-15-12--- chorus That's about it except for some small fills which I didn't bother to include and of course lyrics. In this case though, the lyrics are very easy to hear and understand. They're written on the CD liner! questions yadda yadda yadda.... jeffgeady@sympatico.ca
