1996 - 97 S.J.H.L. ALL-STAR WEEKEND



The 1996-97 S.J.H.L. All-Star weekend was held in Kindersley February 1st and 2nd. The weekend featured a skills competition and banquet on Saturday, Feb. 1, with the All-Star game on Sunday at 2:00pm..


SKILLS COMPETITION


The North Division won the Team Skills Championship over the South 18 - 14. Following are the individual results:

    Fastest Skater - Jean Dufour - Weyburn Red Wings (14.9 seconds)
    Hardest Shot - Eddie Wood - Flin Flon Bombers
    Most Accurate Shot - Terry Cardinal - Nipawin Hawks
    Top Goalie - Rob Schrader - Flin Flon Bombers


25th ANNUAL S.J.H.L. ALL STAR GAME


The game was a fast-skating intense exhibition of excellent hockey. The North Division, coached by Bruce Thompson of the Nipawin Hawks gained revenge for last year's loss, by claiming victory over the South Division by a score of 5 - 3. The scoring summary follows:

First Period:
