Roy is probably one of the best players in the MLS today. In the first season of the MLS, he led the league with over 30 goals. Before playing on DC United, Roy played on Alajuela (COR 1), Santos (BRA), and Tampa Bay Mutiny. Roy was traded to the DC United. He was traded for forward Roy Wegerle. The DC United were named winners of the new CONCACAF cup, which features teams from the whole CONCACAF region. The United currently are in 1st place in the MLS the will try to regain their crown of MLS Champions in the fall.

Roy has scored 5 career National team goals. Roy has played in over 19 games as a national team player. Despite his great performance, Roy will not be with the team in FRANCE '98. The coach felt that it was time for a change; he was also forced to make the decision because of Roy's poor performance at the beginning of the season.
