Ken junior has a younger brother, Craig, and a younger sister, Lathesia. His mother's name is Alberta (Birdie) and his father's name is, of course, Ken senior, who used to play for the Reds. It wouldn't be appropriate if Ken junor is referred to as "The Kid" anymore because he is now the father of two children, Trey and Tarin, and the husband to Melissa.
Ken Griffey Jr. was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 1987 and he has been with that organization ever since. He made his major league debut in 1989 and was named the Rookie of the Year. The Mariners' star center fielder wears the number 24, bats left, throws with his left hand, weighs 205 lbs, and stands at 6'3" tall. He listens to rap music and his hobby is cars.
Other than playing baseball, Ken junior also has an acting career. He's been on many television commercials, including one for Nintendo. Griffey played himself in the shows, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Harry and the Hendersons, and on Medicine Ball (a medical show based in Seattle). He played the spoiler in the 1994 movie, Little Big League with his teammate, Randy Johnson. Griffey was also made into a cartoon character in The Simpsons , where he, and some other major league players were hired by Burns to play baseball.
