In keeping with the theme of this website, I decided it made sense to return to the sport that I have loved so much in my life - bowling. Therefore, I will be posting scores from recent bowling outings on this page.

Please note that all of the scores listed on this page constitute practice games on random outings. As of Tuesday, April 18, 2000, I will begin participating in a sanctioned summer league called Dreamer's Vegas Bound. Scores from the league can be found by clicking here, or on the "League" link at the bottom of this or any page on this site.

In instances where question marks are entered for a score, I simply couldn't remember my score for that game.

If you're interested in reading about the equipment I use, please follow this link.

The high game for any given date will always be shown in red.
Games over 200 will be shown in purple until (snicker) they become common.

Bowling Footnotes:
*
Because we were playing at an hourly rate, time expired with two shots remaining for me in the 10th frame of this game. This was a possible 157 game, although the odds of me having hit two more strikes are, well, not all that great. I think it would be fair to estimate perhaps a 146 or so.
**
As a wonderful early anniversary gift, I got a new bowling ball this day. I was not particularly careful about keeping track of my scores (which weren't that great anyway) because I was doing a lot of experimenting and struggling to get used to the new ball.
***
I bowled on at least four separate occassions between the 14th and the 29th of March, including a marathon session down in Anaheim during a family gathering. However, I failed to keep track of my scores on these occassions. So as not to give the impression that I'm easing my way out of telling you that I bowled poorly during this time period, I admit that my average dropped down to around 130 during that time.
****

Well, after being convinced by multiple pro-shop experts, I finally had my Stinger re-drilled to a fingertip grip. As you can see, despite the change, I managed to bowl right around my average the first time out with the new grip, until the last game. In that fifth game, I'm not sure if my hand was tired, or if it was all in my head, but I just couldn't seem to hold on to the ball any longer. Consequently I dropped several balls and threw 4 or 5 gutter balls during that last game.

If you're interested in reading more about fingertip vs. coventional grips, there is an informative article here.

This was my all-time personal best game. I hope to see more of those 200+ games in the near future!
*****
A lesser man might have argued that his scores weren't so great because he was distracted by the Laker's playoff game that was on the screen while he was trying to bowl. But not me!
^
I was experimenting with a couple of different balls loaned out to me. As you can see, I struggled quite a bit the first three games, but I stuck with only one of the balls in the fourth game, and the results were dramatic.

^^

Continued experiments with a new ball loaned to me by Chris at Dreamer's Bowling - a Storm El Niño II. I used this ball on the 29th and 30th, with fairly dramatic results, as you can see. On the 30th, my first game was a new personal all-time high. And it is also the first outing I've ever had where there were two 200+ games. I plan to purchase this ball soon, as it works well on oily conditions as a nice companion to the Stinger, which is well-suited to dry conditions.
