-Welcome to the Allied Wrestling Association. This is a brand new federation that is being brought to you by three people who have been around this game for years. Even more importantly, the AWA is being brought to you by three trustworhty friends, willing to work hard and bring you the best e-wrestling experience possible. Our motive is simple, we're here to have fun and to make sure everyone else involved with the AWA is having fun and enjoying themselves. Unlike most federations that have been around in this circuit's history, the AWA is a bit different. Here's how...
-We are bringing the AWA from three corners in the world. As you may have seen in the logo, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Events will take place in all of these places. Titles will be created around these countries.
-We aren't looking for the greatest, longest roleplays. We aren't looking for who can talk the best smack. We aren't looking for who kisses ass the most. What we are looking for is involvement...creativity. What we want is any sort of involvement on our weekly cards, and we're not just talking about having a match. We're talking about cutting promos, doing oncards, starting/progressing feuds...anything you can possibly think of. We want angles, storeylines, heated feuds. And if you're having problems coming up with something...don't forget, we're here to help. Now roleplays are also important for the outcome of your matches, so don't forget about those.
-We want to revolutionize the way the game of e-wrestling is played, on both sides. Handlers being active, developing their characters, putting in whatever effort they can manage a week. We aren't asking you to sit down in front of a computer for two hours four days a week. You can only manage a half hour a couple days a week, that's fine. You can manage 5 hours, fives days a week, then get a life. No seriously, we aren't asking anyone to quit their jobs, drop out of school or quit their current fed just to devote all your time to the AWA. That would be nice, but not necessary. We also aren't asking anyone to sit down and write novel posts to secure themsleves a win. As you'll read further down in the rules area, you'll see why that's a no no.
-First and most important rule there can be...HAVE FUN! That's the sole reaosn for this fed, is to have fun and enjoy yourselves. I can't stress that enough. HAVE FUN! HAVE FUN! HAVE FUN! Get the point? Good...let's move on.
-A significant recipe in having fun, is getting to know your surroundings, or in this case, the other handlers and the staff. Look up their email addy and send them emails, find their IM names, ICQ #s, start shooting the shit and before you know it, not only have you got a new friend, but you got yourself a feud or an angle all planned out with the other handler. Happens all the time, believe me.
-If there's a certain handler you have beef with or don't like for whatever reason, then keep that to yourselves. We don't want nor need anyone's past histories popping up on the OOC board and creating OOC wars. However, if you're clever about it, you can use all that beef and heat to say...oh I don't know, start a heated feud? Starting to catch the drift?
-You want to bitch or complain, then you got two outlets...the OOC board and the email addy awawrestling@rock.com. We prefer you choose to email first before you blow something out of proportion and just end up making an ass out of yourself. And if you're still pissed about something, then what I suggest is letting that frustration out on your posts or in your oncards. Believes me, it helps to ease your mid and it works to progress feuds, start feuds or even come up with ideas ofr oncards and what not. Starting to see a common theme here?
-There's one card a week. If you're not booked for a match, then get on the card anyway you can by doing something. Hell, even if you are booked for a match, then get on the card even more...it can only help you. Supercards or Pay Per Views will vary, but no more than one a month.
-Best way to work feuds/angles, is to work together with the other handler(s). Don't just send in oncards week after week without letting the other handler(s) know what's going down, or without any future plans of the payoff match and there on. Interaction between handlers is a must, working together is absolutely necessary and makes for great oncards and great reads. Believe me on that.
-The roleplay limit for each roleplay is 8k. Yeah you read that right...8K! We're not saying roleplaying isn't important, but it is. What we're trying to achieve here with a lower k limit is creativity, roleplay wars among handlers. Sat you want to write a roleplay that's going to be about 15k, fine. Write two then...cut it in half, put a story on it, write to be continued and write up a second one. But keep in mind, it's usually a good idea to clear this with the other handler, even if they don't like it or not, as long as they are aware more than one roleplay is coming out.
-QUALITY OVER QUANTITY! This can't be overstressed. Roleplays that make us laugh, cry, keep reading, think, use as examples are the ones that will most likely help in getting a win. Do Not just keep writing I'm better than you, you suck...over and over again in different ways. Don't just come out and rattle off smack after smack without any flow or backing to the statements. And please, make sure it makes sense.
-Roleplaying is not the only factor in judging who wins a match. Angle involvement, oncards and activity also plays a major part in deciding who wins. however, that does not mean that you can not roleplay and still win. Not roleplay will just result in your character getting jobbed. A consistency of not roleplaying will eventually lead to your termination.
-You can write as many rolpelays as you like. The minimum is one a week...the max is 893764940123...you get the point. However doing too many roleplays a week, usually they get too repetitive and boring. If you can avoid this, then roleplay away. Otherwise, one a week is perfectly fine.
-Deadlining...there is to be none of that. You can not go more than 2 posts up on your opponent. In other words, if your opponent has a post up, then the most you can have is 3...if your opponent has 2, then the most you can have is 4, and so on. There is to be no more roleplaying six hours before the deadline, unless your opponent is a post or two up on you. Otherwise, if you both have an equal number of posts, no more roleplaying six hours prior to the deadline. If you're intent on doing something and you realize you can't post no more...ONCARDS!!! Send in an oncard, believe me, that does you more good than prolly posting another boring, repetitive roleplay.
-Only two posts a day per handler. I know there is no limit on the amount of posts, but only two a day. How would it make you feel if you checked out the roleplay board and saw your opponent posts ten bombs on you? That's what I thought. If you're intent on doing something, rather than focusing all of your energy and time on roleplays, put some of that into oncards and angle work. I'm just going to keep saying it till you remember it.
-The roleplay limit for each roleplay is 8k! Yeah, I'm saying it again so it can sink in. Don't think you can write one under 10 or 12k? Go back to the old school days when we all use to write 3k roleplays. 8k roleplays seemed like novels to us back then. 8k should be the perfect amount to be able to say all you need. Want an extension? NO! Like we said before, break it up into two posts or even three posts and do it like that, it would work out a lot better.
-No racist comments of any kind. Youall should know what words to use and not to use. If you think it might offend someone, then ask one of us or don't use it to be sure. If you need to use it, then clear it with us and the other handler. Any racist comments intended to offend others, will result in immediate termination. As far as homosexual remarks...just don't get too carried away with them and don't go too overboard with it.
-We encourage any other language you please. You want to curse, be my guest. Actually, we prefer you type out the word "fuck", rather than type it out like "f*ck". If part of your charatcer's gimmick isn't to curse, then I suggest not using the "f*ck" approach. Use damn, or darn it, or hell...hey, that's part of his gimmick. It's generally a good idea to find a niche with your charatcer, how they speak and act and all.
-Kayfabe. Don't break it. Don't refer to real wrestling federations and real charatcers.
-We advise you only handle one character in the fed, or one tag team. You want to handle more? Fine by us. But through experience, we find handling more than one or two characters in a fed becomes more work than fun and the quality in roleplays, oncards and what not begins to fade.
-Be realistic with your characters. Don't tell us your character is 7'8", 850 pounds. That's just ridiculous. And don't tell us your character knows every single wrestling move there is to know. A 300 pounder shouldn't be doing springboard moonsaults. And a 200 pounder shouldn't be doing powerbombs on 300 pounders. You get the idea. Also, be realistic with your character's qualities. Don't tell us he's resilient, powerful, agile, smart, fast and all that. Everyone has a weakeness somewhere.
-No one will judge their own match. If a staff memeber handles a character, they will not judge their own match and they will not be given special treatment. Everyone is treated fairly.
-Need a week or two or three off? No problem. But please let us know ahead of time so we can work something out to explain your character's absence or involve it in an angle or something.
-Wanna help out and write matches? Be our guest. Just hit one of us up and let us know you want to write a match. Believe me, it is greatly appreciated. However, if you are writing your own match, give it a fair write up. Do not make it one sided where your character does all the damage. All writeups, and for that matter, all oncards and promos and anything else that is sent in for cards, is reveiwed closely. Keep that in mind.
-Last but not least...HAVE FUN!
