Bryan Kozmin gave the Huskies the early lead on a pass from Tony Rante.
The Sabers came roaring back with 3 unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead into the third
period. With only 8 minutes left in the game, Rob Hankamp scored on a pass from Connor Chakeen
to shake up the team. Brandon Johnson knotted the score 2 minutes later when Pat McGrath
sprung him with a perfect pass.
Connor got the winner when Bryan set him up with only 1:42 left to play. That goal set up one of
the most thrilling finishes you will ever see, as Dan Waszak stopped one shot after another in the
closing seconds to preserve the win.

News year’s Eve, 1997 Mike Lopatka started the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first
against St. Jude. We lost the lead late in the second but Bryan gave us a 2-1 lead when he scored an
unassisted goal with 9 seconds left to play in the second. They tied it early in the 3rd, but Connor
saved the day with another unassisted goal to win it with 7:52 to play.
