Bethlehem Steel Soccer Club, 1921-1922

Because of poor attendance at Bethlehem Steel Field, the management of the Bethlehem Steel F. C. decided to move the team to Philadelphia for the 1921-22 season, where they played under the name Philadelphia F. C. in the newly-formed American Soccer League (ASL). The core of the old Bethlehem Steel team played for the Philadelphia F. C., while maintaining their jobs at the Bethlehem Steel plant and keeping their homes in Bethlehem.

Billy Sheridan organized a new Bethlehem Steel F. C. which entered the National Cup competition, being eliminated in the second round by Fleisher Yarn.

Following are articles from the Bethlehem Globe about the Philadelphia F. C.
