THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE OTTAWA FOOTBALL LEAGUE
The Ottawa Football League was founded in 1998. The main goal of the league was to get children interacted with football. The league currently has two teams-the Ottawa Thrashers and the Ottawa Dinosaurs. They play each other every Saturday during the season, which runs from September to November. The reigning champions are the Thrashers. The league's players include: Steve Brusatte, Mike Brusatte, Chris Brusatte, Brent Moore, Scott Cain, Pat Sanchez, Bobby Thrush, and Austin Monroe. Look below for stats.
1998 CHAMPIONS
The Ottawa Thrashers won the 1998 title after posting a 3-0-1 record. All Star quarterback Steve Brusatte and All Star Wideout Brent Moore teamed up to lead the team to a great season, including a 11-1 win over the Dinosaurs. The team won numerous awards. Brusatte won the QB of the week award every week, and Moore won the Receiver of the Week award every week. The OFL will have a shortened spring season this year, so stay tuned.

OFL ALMOST FOLDS UP
In November the Ottawa Football League almost was forced to fold up because the Ottawa Dinosaurs quit the league. The Dinosaurs decided to quit the league because they were not happy about the way stats were being kept. They also felt that the Thrashers were starting fights during games. The Thrashers denied all accusations. The Dinosaurs petitioned to the league office saying that they did not agree with the Weekly Awards and the player rating system. The Thrashers were outraged. They said, "just because our players win more awards and are ranked higher, it should not cause us to shut down the league. We win so many awards because we win so many football games." Every Dinosaur player then signed another petition and sent it to the league, saying they quit. The Thrashers were then the only team left in the fledgling league. But, the Dinosaurs quitting did not last long. The OFL league office told the Thrashers that they had until 9:00 on November 15 to work out a deal, or the season would be cancelled. At 8:56 on the night of November 15, a deal was worked out. The deal, called the OFL Charter, contained many new league rules. Here are some:
1.) The OFL agrees not to have any weekly or season awards.
2.)The players of the OFL agree not to fight.
3.)The players of the OFL agree not to act selfishly.
4.)The players of the OFL agree to meet before each game and discuss any problems.
5.)The OFL agrees not to keep excessive stats.
6.)The OFL agrees not to make player ratings.
7.)The players of the OFL agree to keep the 1998 season running under these rules.

DUBACH SUSPENDED
Adrian Dubach was suspended for life by the OFL in November after a fight. During the first game of the year, Dubach started to watch the Thrashers vs. the Dinosaurs as a fan in the crowd. Then he urged to play in the game. The OFL league office would not let him. Dubach then insisted he would not move off of the field unless he got to play. In addition to that, he brought his dog onto the field. The OFL, fearing they would not be able to continue the game, let Dubach play. The Thrashers let him kick the ball off three times. Then Dubach made a mistake by not tackling Mike Brusatte and letting him have an easy touchdown. The OFL league office thinks Dubach may have intentionally let Brusatte go. On the next kickoff, Dubach went to tackle Brusatte and intentionally punched him in the face. A gigantic melee started and Dubach was ejected. He was then suspended for 1998. Two games later Dubach made his way onto the field again. This time, he told his younger brother Zach to throw an egg onto the field. Zach threw the egg onto Louis J. Brusatte Memorial Field and Thrashers star QB Steve Brusatte went to talk to Dubach. Dubach then threw an egg at Brusatte. It hit him in the back. Another melee started and the OFL decided to suspend Dubach for life. Dubach appealed, but his appeal was overturned. Stay tuned.
FUN FACT:
SCOTT CAIN OF THE DINOSAURS WAS NICKNAMED "PUNK" BY BRENT MOORE OF THE THRASHERS.
NEWS FLASH:
The Ottawa Dinosaurs took the honorary name "Suchomimuses" for their third game to honor the new dinosaur discovered by University of Chicago Paleontologist Paul Sereno.
