Hockey is a cool sport. My favorite team, the Chicago Blackhawks, are struggling. But, Tony Amonte lead the NHL in goals for most of the first half. Chris Chelios, Doug Gilmour, Jocyelan Thibault, and others are still red hot. |

BASKETBALL IS BACK! A LOOK AT THE NEW BULLS' ROSTER Basketball is back from the crippling lockout. The world champion Chicago Bulls have a new look, too. With Michael Jordan retiring, the Bulls began to rebuild. A look at their roster. Ron Harper-G Randy Brown-G Toni Kukoc-F Keith Booth-G Roy Rodgers-C Bubba Wells-F Martin Muresepp-G Mark Bryant-G Cory Carr-G Corey Benjamin-G Craig Staples-F Matt Steigenga-F Bill Wennington-C Kornel David-G Andrew Land-C Rusty LaRue-G And of course-Coach Tim Floyd The Bulls traded Scottie Pippen to the Rockets for Rodgers and a second round draft choice. They traded Luc Longley to Phoenix for Wells, Bryant, and Muresepp. Steve Kerr went to San Antonio. Dennis Rodman retired for one day, and now wants to play in Phoenix. They have a daunting task ahead of them. |

Soccer is yet another great sport. My favorite team, the Chicago Fire, won the MLS title. They became the first inaugural team to win a title in any major professional sport. Coach Bob Bradley was named the coach of the year. I interviewed him last March. For a copy of the interview, e-mail me at brusatte@theramp.net. |

BEARS BLUNDER Stupidity--the Chicago Bears. They call a press conference to announce the hiring of Dave McGinnis to be their new coach. Big deal, right? The catch is, McGinnis did not even know he was hired yet. He had not signed a contract. Then Bears president Mike McCaskey called him into his office and offered him a contract that was considerably less then predacessor Dave Wannstedt. In addition to that, McCaskey gave McGinnis a limited buget in which to hire assistant coaches. McGinnis said no and the Bears rushed to hire former Jacksonville defensive coordinator Dick Jauron. They passed up the best man for the job, Sherm Lewis. Hmm, makes you think about racism all over again. |

THE SUPER BOWL!! The Super Bowl is almost here. It is the big game, the goal for all football players. This year defending champion the Denver Broncos are going to face the challenger, the Atlanta Falcons. Lead by Jamal Anderson and Chris Chandler, the Falcons hope to be doing the Dirty Bird all the way into the record books. Even though they are underdogs, the Falcons hope to win. They have a great chance, for Denver was in the same position last year and won. But, MVP Terrell Davis, John Elway, Howard Griffith, Neil Smith, Shannon Sharpe and company hope to repeat! Watch the huge game on Fox on January 31. |

THE HOCKEY ALL STAR GAME The NHL All Star game is almost here. It will be the World All Stars vs. North America. They game will be held in warm Tampa Bay. Look for the world to win behind the great play of goalie Dominik Hasek. The North Americans are not ready to fold yet. NHL leading scorers Eric Lindros, John LeClair, and Tony Amonte will give Hasek a tough job. Whoever will win, it will be interesting. The game will be on ESPN. |
