Conway released from Jets
 
Guard Lamont Burns has been brought back to the practice squad, and kicker Brett
Conway was released. The move was seen as a vote of confidence for kicker John Hall.  I
have no news about Conway's current standing, as soon as I hear anything it will be
posted.

Jets escape the wrath of Parcells

With the season in danger of slipping away, the Jets responded by rushing for 302 yards
Sunday enroute to a punishing 44-6 rout over the Indianapolis Colts at Giants Stadium.
After the Jets' fourth TD, the Colts blocked John Hall's extra point, ending a successful
string of 43 conversions.

Ravens over Jets

The Jets are now 0-2 in the season and off to a very slow start.  "I'm concerned about
everything right now," coach Bill Parcells said after Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Baltimore
Ravens at Giants Stadium.  John hall made 1 out of 2 of his field goal attempts, he missed
one in the 2nd Quarter and made a 20 yard field goal in the 3rd Quarter.

Final score was Jets - 30, 49ers -36.  Hall made 3 out of 4 of his field goal attempts.  In the
4th Quarter he missed a 45 yard field goal, it was wide right.

Conway Placed on NY Jets Practice Squad

Looks like another season of waiting for an opportunity as Brett Conway was placed on the
NY Jets practice squad. Conway was still eligible for the practice squad as he did not play
in a regular season game for the Packers last year ... he was on injured reserve.

Hall won the kicking derby with Brett Conway when coach Bill Parcells announced Sunday
that Conway was one of seven players released to get the Jets down to the NFL's 53-man
limit.

Conway Traded to New York Jets

On August 21, 1998, Brett Conway was traded by the Packers to the New York Jets for an
undisclosed draft pick. He was perfect on extra points and made his only field goal attempt,
from 32 yards, in the Jets' final exhibition game against the Bears. He shared kicking
duties with 2nd year kicker, John Hall.
