The Truckee River Regional Park Disc Golf Course

The Truckee River Regional Park disc golf course now has 18 MACH III baskets.

The Truckee Disc Golf Association completed the installation of 18 brand new MACH III baskets on Saturday July 10, 1999.

The Truckee Disc Golf Association and Tahoedisc.com are very proud to announce that we have installed 18 Mach III's at the Truckee River Regional Park disc golf course in Truckee, California.
The Truckee Disc Golf Association is the host club for this outstanding disc golf facility.
The course received final approval on June 10, 1999 at the monthly Tahoe-Donner Regional Park District meeting.

Directions to the course:

From the East: From Interstate 80 take the first Truckee exit which is Highway 267 and turn left (south). Follow highway 267 across the railroad tracks and the Truckee River continuing south for another 1/4 mile. The Truckee River Regional Park is on the left. Baskets 1, 2 and 3 are visible from Highway 267.

From the West: From Interstate 80 take the Central Truckee exit. Turn right and follow the signs to Highway 267. You will make a left onto West River St. and then a right onto Highway 267. You will then cross the Truckee River heading south. Course is 1/4 mile on the left.

From the North Shore: Take Highway 267 north from Kings Beach. Course is approximately 2 miles past the Truckee Airport on the right.

Fees: The Truckee River Regional Park disc golf course is free to play.

During the Fall months prior to snowfall in 1999, the Truckee Disc Golf Association worked on installing the second, third and fourth pin placement for all holes. All the holes have been measured and maps are being drawn for Tee-signs which will be put into place in the spring of 2000. The course distances are as follows.
A= 4756 feet: 18 hole have an A placement
B= 5552 feet: 18 holes have a B placement
BC= 7001 feet: 14 holes have a C placement
BCD= 7159 feet: 2 holes have a D placement

The Truckee Disc Golf Association would like to express their sincere thanks to the TDRPD for making disc golf possible in Truckee.

Not only did the course receive final approval but it was also featured in a front page article by the Sierra Sun.
The article describes the project and how the course has been recently redesigned in order to accommodate the needs of other Truckee Regional Park users. This includes the Legacy Bicycle trail which is being built adjacent to the course.

Thanks to the Sierra Sun for the great article.

Grand Opening

The Truckee Disc Golf Association had it's grand opening celebration for the new course on Sunday September 5, 1999. We had a B-B-Q and course dedication as well as doubles, a mini tourney and a putting contest.
We also raffled off over $300 in prizes with proceeds going to the club.

Ice Bowl

In January 2000 The Truckee River Regional Park held the 1st Annual Ice Bowl Tournament

The Truckee Ice Bowl

The Truckee ICE BOWL was held on January 22 at the Truckee River Regional Park.
We had 64 players for the inaugural event. The tournament was a charity event for
Project MANA, a North Lake Tahoe area food bank. All proceeds from the tourney and raffle went to the food bank. Tourney players donated over 250 pounds of canned goods and $300 was raised at the event.

The club is now seeking tee sign sponsors.
We are developing a sponsorship form for this which should be available soon.
If you are interested in tee sign sponsorships please E-mail Tahoedisc.com
