My name is Dustin and I have been using ICQ since November of '98. It has made my times on the internet more enjoyable talking to my friends with the instant message system and sending each other files, and URLs to our favorite sites back and forth, and passing them on to the next person. If the idea of somebody else sending non secure and potentialy cyber crippling files into your computer then you need not worry because you can decline incoming chat requests, file transfers, URLs, and contacts left, right, and center.
Can ICQ really screw up your computer. The answer is no. The people who hunt people through ICQ and try to damage their software can though. But you still don't have to worry because ICQ has plenty of ways to protect you from those kind of people and you yourself can prevent it by declining file transfers from people you don't trust.
