Operation Night

Club
The club operation night is a night when the club operates as a real railroad. Cars are sorted and placed in yards and at industries. Then, through the use of a computer program, train orders are generated. Starting usually at 8pm, trains begin departing from the yards to make their runs around the layout. There are four typical types of trains dispatched out:
1. Internals - these trains are operated by the yard masters, sent out to the local industries near the yards.
2. Locals - these trains depart the yard and make several stops at industries, picking up and dropping off cars as they go along.
3. Run through - these trains, as implied, start at one yard and run straight through to a terminal yard.
4. Passenger - there are generally two to four passenger trains in any given operating session. They make thirty second stops at each station.
The public is always welcome to come down and watch!

Public
The public operation night is always on the last Friday of each month, with the exception of the summer months (June-August). On these nights, club members take trains out as they please. As not all of our layout is visible from the front, we allow a small number of people to come to the back portions for a few minutes at a time.
