Seneca Valley high school hockey is getting ready to start again. We
need the player and a parent to attend the corporate annual meeting on
Wednesday, September 4th at 7:30 PM. The Cressmans have been kind
enough to offer their house for the meeting. Directions are below.

Preseason tournament
and volunteer help.
Along that line... PLAYERS see if you don't know someone (or two) that
could be team managers. This worked very well for that "other team" I
worked with last year. You know other students who might enjoy being
part of the team, talk to them.
Also EVERYONE pass the word to anyone who you know about that isn't on
the email list above.

If you attend Seneca Valley High School and ice skate or play roller hockey, welcome to the Seneca Valley High Hockey Club! We have two separate teams: In-house and MSHL Varsity (Maryland Scholastic Hockey League). To play on the MSHL varsity team, you must also join and participate in the in-house program.
The In-house team has about 14 practices and plays 14 games. We start in mid-September and finish before the end of February. In-house games feature nearly equal playing time and the league is less competitive than the MSHL. Practices are regularly Wednesday night and games are Sunday evenings. All activities are at Skate Frederick.
The MSHL varsity team plays 10 games. The season starts in December and ends around mid-February. Playoffs are complete before the end of February. Practices are part of the In-house package. League games are more competitive than In-house and are played like any other high school sport. Also the MSHL follows the school eligibility rules regarding suitable grades.
The cost for the In-house program is about $450 (paid directly to Skate Frederick). The cost for the MSHL program will be around $200. You must have/buy your own equipment for either team. We also play a couple tournaments on non-league games before, during or after the season. We either fundraise to cover their cost or pay an extra fee for each event.
