The current Malta triathlon champion at the age of 16. He is dubbed to be one of the top international athletes of the present and years to come. Dermot Galea has come all the way from basics to top athlete with the help of the club B’Kara St.Joseph, Club coach Mr. Andy Colbourn and thanks to Red Bull Galea can compete in international events. Dermot has been the first ever Maltese triathlete to win the international Easter Sprint triathlon even though having stiff competition form good international athletes. 1999 has been a year of noticeable improvement in all the three disciplines. Dermot will be representing the islands in the European championships to be held in Portugal in June.
John Zammit : John is better know for the longer races, he is currently training for his ironman debut hoping to move on to beat the national record for the distance. John is a unique athlete for his club. He formed part of the 80km Round Malta swim relay team for two years running, came second in the Gozo Malta triathlon in 1997 and finished his first ever middle distance this year.
