Practice Ten -- Planning
Plans, implements, and evaluates effective instruction in a variety of learning environments.

Recognizes the importance of setting high expectations for all students, the preprofessional teacher works with other professions to design learning expectation that meet students' needs and interests.  The teacher candidate continually seeks advice/information from appropriate resources including feedback, interprets the information, and modifies his/her plans appropriately.  Planned instruction will incorporate a creative environment and utilize varied and motivational strategies and mulitple resources for providing comprehensible instruction for all students.  Upon reflection, the teacher continuously refines outcome assessment and learning experiences.

--Case studies or exercises that require adaptation and supplementation of standard instructional materials using diagnostic information to meet specified case-study conditions about unique student needs or interest. (Health, PE, Sp., Ed., Foreign Lang., Math)
10.3--Case studies or exercises that require identification of appropriate academic and community resources for instruction. (Health, PE, Sp. Ed., Foreign Lang.)
10.4--Exercise requiring reviewing state/district teacher-made instructional objectives for identification of overlap and unique aspects with recommendations for curricular or instructional adjustment appropriate. (Agric, Art, Elementary, Music, PE, Sp. Ed., English, Math)
10.5--Peer/university faculty assessment of collaborative development of a lesson or instructional activity. (Agric, Art, Elementary, Music, PE, Sp. Ed., English, Math)
10.6--Responses to exercises/assignments demonstrating knowledge of standard study-skills techniques, assessment preparation, test-taking skills, appropriate for the discipline and developmental level, and interpretation of group test performance data.
10.7--Instructor/peer evaluation of conferencing skills with interdisciplinary team for planning instruction for an individual student, through videotaping or role-playing. (Music, Sp. Ed.)
10.8--Portfolio entry of written instructional objectives , in terms of performance outcomes, for unit of instruction that include high expectations for all students. (Agric, Art, Elementary, Music, PE, English, Math)
10.9--Portfolio entry of set of lesson plans for unit of instruction, indicating information resources, curricular materials, motivational strategies, classroom activities, assignments, review activities, assessment, and enrichment activities that take into account the diversity of the class. (Agric, Art, Health, Music, PE, English)
