INTERCEPTIONS KILL FALCONS

ATLANTA (CP) - The Rams defence has done it again. Holding Atlanta to only 219 yards in offense and helped by three Joe Nedney field goals, the St. Louis Rams have defeated the Atlanta Falcons 16-6, to remain the only

The game was much closer than the score shows. The Rams held a 10-0 lead after a first half that saw Cade McNown being intercepted while in the red zone and a Jason Elam blocked field goal attempt. But Darrick Vaughn returned the opening kickoff of the second half 99 yards to reduce the lead 10-6, as the snap for the extra point was fumbled.

While Nedney had two more field goals in the second half, McNown was victim of another interception and fumbled on St. Louis 8-yard line to give the win on a silver platter.
