2001: A Princeton Badminton
Odyssey
Doubles-Only Tournament
The Princeton University Badminton Club
invites all A, B, C, junior and senior players to a doubles-only badminton
tournament to be held Saturday, March 24, 2001 in the Dillon Gym on the
Princeton campus in Princeton, New Jersey.
The new best "3 out of 5 games" to 7 points format will be
used. This announcement can be

All men's doubles will start promptly
at 9 am. Senior and junior doubles
will start approximately noon. Mixed
doubles will start approximately 2 pm. All
events are $12.00 each. Entries
must be postmarked by March 10 or will be charged a late fee of $5.00.
Checks must be made out to the Princeton Badminton Club.

Senior men's/women's doubles and mixed
doubles will be by combined ages of the entrants.
Senior men's teams must be a combined 80 years of age with neither player
younger than 25 years old. Senior
women's doubles teams must be a combined 70 years of age with neither player
younger than 20 years old. Mixed
teams must be a combined 75 years of age with the man no younger than 25 and the
woman no younger than 20 years old. Junior
players must be younger than 18 years of age as of 3/24/2001.
Two shuttles allotted per match.
Shuttles needed after two will be the players responsibility.
This is a USA Badminton sanctioned
tournament. All players must be USA
Badminton members or be willing to join the USA Badminton organization at
registration. Best 2 out of 3 games
to 7 points may be used if the tournament runs late.
Directions:
Princeton is located 50 miles southwest of Newark and 45 miles northeast
of Philadelphia. US Hwy. 1 traveling
between Philadelphia and Newark passes just east of the Princeton campus.
Leave Highway 1 at Alexander Street and head west about one mile into
campus. The first light after
crossing the narrow bridge is Faculty Road, turn right and go over the railroad
tracks, turn left immediately at the unmarked road (Elm Street) and proceed to
the guard booth 1/4 mile ahead. Mention
the tournament in Dillon Gym and you will be directed to lot 7 which is a new
visitor parking garage. The Dillon
Gym will be 200 yards up the hill with entrance on the far end.
