Killian was born on May 23, 1998 and came to us from Seattle, Washington when he was 11 weeks old. Killian is from mainly East German(DDR) and Czechslovakian working lines with some West German working lines in his pedigree. He is a dark red sable male with large, substantial bone, deep pigment and a large, masculine head. He has high food drive and an excellent, stable temperament. Killian gets along with other dogs as well as cats and humans.

Killian's hips are OFA Excellent and elbows are Normal.

Killian and I trained in schutzhund with Joanne Fleming-Plumb in Stayner, Ontario. We learned a lot from Joanne and I will always be grateful for her patience with me as a rookie handler and for helping Killian and me to achieve the following results.
Killian earned his first title in October, 2000 - his Schutzhund BH under DVG judge, Sandi Purdy. 
He earned his DVG Obedience 1 and Tracking 1 on October 13, 2001 under judge Sandi Purdy.

In October, 2002, Killian earned his SchH1 (VPG1) under DVG judge Ray Reid with scores of 95,91,89, total 275 SG,.

In June 2003, Killian passed his SchH2 trial under DVG Judge Andy Anderson with scores of 96,97,89, total of 282 SG, V rated in tracking and obedience.

In October, 2003, he earned his SchH3 title with scores of 90,85,98, total of 273 SG - V rated in protection under judge Leo Muller.

In February, 2004, Killian earned his IPO3 in Orlando Florida under Judge Ray Reid with scores of 98,85,78 for a total of 261 and 3rd place IPO3. Again he V rated in tracking

He also passed his Temperament Testing certification in 1999 at the German Shepherd Dog Club of Canada Nationals in Kitchener, Ontario. In June,1999, Killian showed under SV Sieger show judge, Horst Knabe at the Ontario Regional Sieger Show and was rated SG (sehr gut) in the 12 to 18 month class. This is the highest rating possible at this age.

Killian started training in agility in December, 2004 and competed in 2005. Our coach is Sandy MacDavid of Acton Agility and we thank her for her patience and skill.
By the end of 2005, he earned his AKC Novice Agility NA; his AAC Starter Standard and Games titles V-ADC,V-SGDC; CPE titles in CL2-R(regular), CL1-H (handler games) and CL1-F (fun games)
. He also has his Nadac Regular, Jumpers ,Gamblers, Tunnelers and Touch and Go titles at the Novice level NAC-V, NJC-V, NGC-V, TN-N, TG-N as well as his Outstanding Novice Regular, Jumpers, Gamblers and Tunnelers titles O-NAC-V, O-NJC-V, O-NGC-V, O-TN-N. In fact, in AAC, Killian ended his first year of competition by placing in the AAC Top Dogs listing as the top Veteran German Shepherd Dog in Canada and 35th overall Veteran!! Not bad for the first year of competition for a dog who only started agility at age 7.
In 2006, Killian earned his Veteran Advanced Games Dog of Canada V-AGDC , his Veteran Advanced Dog of Canada VAADC,his Veteran Master Snooker Dog of Canada (V-MSDC), his Veteran Masters Jumpers Dog of Canada VMJDC, and his Veteran Master Steeplechase Dog of Canada V-MSCDC titles.
For fun we started competing in Rally obedience and on September 10, 2005 Killian earned his Rally Novice title RNMCL and on September 18 his Rally Advanced title RAMCL. Killian was the only German Shepherd Dog in Canada to earn his Rally Advanced title in 2005.
Killian also competed in Agility, Rally and Obedience in the German Shepherd Dog Club of America GSDCA Nationals in November 2005. He qualified with a 3rd place in JWW Preferred agility and also got his first AKC Rally and regular Obedience Qualifying scores. We had a great time and he made me very proud.
