Crowded House will probably be remembered as one of the greatest Australian pop groups of all time (The band considered themselves Australian, although lead singer and songwriter Neil Finn is a proud New Zealander). They had a worldwide smash hit in 1986/87 with Don't Dream It's Over followed by a string of minor hits. Only their loyal legion of diehard 'Finnatics' stuck with them, appreciating the finely crafted tunes of Neil Finn and friends. They rehit the big time after playing a farewell concert for 120,000+ at the Sydney Opera House on 24/11/96 and their 'best of' album 'Recurring Dream' has gone eight times platinum.
