McKnown and Hicks set records

Cade McKnown and Skip Hicks are setting records and becoming the best Pac-10 tandem. If the the rush is shut down then McKnown can get points passing and if the pass is shut down then Hicks can get points running. In any kind of football, college or pro, you need a good running game to get a consistent passing game. So with Skip Hicks UCLA has a good running and it takes off some of the preasure from McKnown so that he can make big play passes.

In a game 2 weeks ago against the Texas Longhorns McKnown threw for five touchdowns to set a UCLA record for most touchdowns thrown in a half. This was in a game where UCLA won 66-3, their biggest win since 1954. And in yesterdays game Skip Hicks ran for 4 touchdowns for his fourth time in his career and set a record for most touchdowns in a career at UCLA. Both McKnown and Hicks are seniors and are in the race for the Heisman Trophy, they are also both most likely to be chosen in the first round of the '98 draft.
